Re: Retro Gaming on Android
Android (and iOS) neglect is even more rapid and more fatal than Windows neglect. SO many games have just disappeared into the aether.

Re: Retro Gaming on Android
Tell me about it. There are tons of games that aren't supported anymore on newer iOS/Android versions. For example, I can't play Chaos Rings on my phone. I can't run Eternal Legacy on any of my Android devices. I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg.

So true. It's why I prefer Android because you can still side load whatever you want if it's pulled or not. As long as the coding isn't sour or just so outdated it fails like old PC games you're good to go.
I keep a copy of Dune 2 PC converted to Android backed up on my drive and even in my gmail because google pulled it. I also have an Android beta conversion of Super Noah's Ark as awful as that game is for humor value backed up too.

Know we're staying away from emulators, but Atari does have a classics release with free Missile Command, other are IAP.

It uses assets from SaiDaiOuJou, but its basically its own game since they had to rework it to jam IAP all over the place. There isn't even a giant laser, which says enough about how far removed it is

I do recall DDP DFK, Futari, and Espgaluda 2 all having actual ports to Android though, but you had to go through some other service (Download the service's app and then download the games or something). I only briefly messed with it a few years ago, but they appeared to be straight ports.
Re: Retro Gaming on Android
I read there were two KOnami re-do of old games of theirs from the 'retro' period. One they cancelled but it leaked which is Salamander, and then one that got removed for whatever reason was Contra Evolution a modern coat of paint to the original.
Salamander can be found off a tweet: https://twitter.com/shmupemall/status/6 ... 0896123906
Studio had finished game, Konami cancelled contract, studio put it up for free download. Pretty sure this is gray, if too gray, feel free to remove link or I will.

Re: Retro Gaming on Android
awesome find on Salamander!
@Jag: I already had that Atari collection listed. I added the other two, though.

Thankyou for the heads up on this. Pulled from the Google Play store, surprised how well Q*Bert translates to the android phone. Both the remake and original quite easy to control via the touch screen.
To get rid of popup ads on many games, simply turn off WiFi/Data and do NOT download the Google Play Games App.
