Classic.

A few years ago my Father in law went to New Orleans, and my Mother in law asked him to bring her back "something unique from New Orleans". He brought back a box of zatarain's jambalaya mix. That still cracks me up.

Makes me think of someone saying "My trip to San Fransisco was amazing, and I brought you back something special..Rice O Roni!".

Smile: I'll be spending at least five hours in a car today. Why does that make me happy? I won't be driving and I'm itching to finally play some new DS games (by new, I mean new to me). Also, going to a birthday party, so free food, and the menu includes ribeye steaks.

I'll be in the car, driving, for over ten hours tomorrow. The drive is for a funeral and I would drive twenty hours if I had to, and luckily I have every disc to the Star Wars Radio Drama to keep me awake.

Today = Celebrating another year of life.
Tomorrow= Honoring the loss of a life.

If that ain't life, I don't what is.

Smile:
Finally going to finish my family photo project. Grabbed a 2TB Seagate HDD and now compiling photos from 4 phones, laptop, Nikon camera, & 2 DVDS all into one external drive.

The plan is to get a secondary drive in about 6 months & always keep a backup. I want my kiddos (one now, hoping for 1 more) to have photos years from now. So many photos are lost when most folks upgrade phones.

I know, I know....the cloud. Think of my external HDD as my photo album.

:( : Working 9 days in a row, submitting a school assignment that I know isn't my best work but I have no more time to work on it, being exhausted... I'm ready to have a day where I can drink a bunch of Octoberfest beer and wake up at 2 PM the next day with no consequences.

It's called "Retirement".

Buddy of mine is celebrating a Birthday today, and since I'm going to a funeral and can't visit, I sent him a youtube video of me:

Yes, the camera is terrible. The singing is terrible. But fuck it, I did it with no practice, in one take, and it's completely different than the other hundreds of "Happy Birthday!" meaningless posts.

Store the secondary OUTSIDE of the house. Dont trust a firesafe with it.

My work photos are stored in two different states, but that is overkill.

Smile: I'm consulting for a company large enough that they own helicopters (and still haven't been asked if I could go on a helicopter ride). Things are going swimmingly and it has been a great synergistic relationship and I get nothing but "Atta Boys!".

Frown: I just sent a mass email to the company that was supposed to end with, "Best Regards, Luke ", but rather ended with "Best Retards, Luke ". I always proofread my email, but never my signature. Time for a change on that.

Smile: Seems like everyone got that it was a goof, and now "Best Retards" is now a thing that will stick with me for some time.

:( Truck is officially junk, so my parents are scrambling to try and find something I can afford payments on. I would look here, but I ran through everything available in 15 minutes of looking, there isn't anything reliable in the area, and as I have found out, my condo does not allow you to work on vehicles in the parking lot.

Mix that with my never-ending stream of school work and shitty schedule, and I'm going nuts. I might have to drop my accounting class, its only an hour a week and I'm learning jack squat in it currently.

And to top it all off, I'm going to be making multiple 2 and a half hour trips this weekend, at least four. You would think my birthday weekend would be relaxing, but nope.

While I am a Biggie fan, I'm too close to H-Town and NOLA to be using East Coast lyrics to describe my life.
