There is ABSOLUTELY a short film. REPO posted it on here a few times. It's amazing.

Noise, link the video for us, please?

Sadly none of my short films have survived the tests of time, as they were recorded on VHS via an old Tyco camcorder that was directly connected to the VHS.

The first two were blatant ripoffs of The Manger Babies from King of the Hill, each one based on the two stories Luanne created in the first episode to feature them (the one about sneaking into the movies and the one about being tricked by the devil).

The last of the three was a "Power Rangers" fanfilm done with action figures (PR and non-PR ones) teaming up against a box that a VCR (iirc) came in. It also played into the surprisingly deep fanmade continuity that involved basically a bunch of toys banding together with or against Power Ranger action figures. One of the villains was an Elmo car, and another duo consisted of my Tyco camcorder and his wife (a Disney's Hercules Happy Meal Toy, the medallion one to be exact). There WAS gonna be much lengthier project but it fell through.

All of these were done on the spot, in one take, with improvised dialog and action, and was shot in real-time with toys.

I've actually wanted to, for a while, do a music video project. The goal is to make a music video for all 10 tracks from the self-titled debut/only album of Sue Saad and the Next. Most of the songs are story-like and would be easy to adapt.

And there was a silent-era-style fantasy-horror short about a woman whose desperation to have a child leads her to make an unGodly deal with a local necromancer.

There's also something I wanted to do, and that's wake up early, go grab a newspaper, and then spend the day adapting one of the news stories, and then premiere it in my living room that night. Basically the "instant film" idea that John Waters postulated in his "This Filthy World" one-man show when talking about his short film "The Diane Linklater Story". He said it was a very good exercise for film students.

But when I don't have anyone to star in my short films, along with no real budget, I can't even manage to conjure up a found-footage short (though I did have an idea for a "Scooby-Doo"-inspired found footage slasher).

Would you like any fries with your ketchup? Or perhaps some corn with your butter? Maybe some potato with your sour cream?
He strikes me as the type to put ketchup on his hot dogs.
Ha, yes guilty as charged I'm afraid. ... Of course in Montana we don't have no la-di-da, highfalutin' hot dogs like you big city folk. No, unfortunately any condiments applied to hot dogs out here are purely for the purpose of disguising the taste of said hot dogs. Sausage and brats are a different story entirely.

:D It's starting to feel kinda fall-like. I no longer have to leave my fan running 24/7 in the upstairs of my Cape Cod and it's comfortable up here! I might even sleep with the blanket tonight (windows are wide open) Ugh, been way too many days 90+ this summer. Human beings shouldn't have to live at that temperature.

Bigger :D Dragoncon is barely over a week away. Cannot wait.

Must see.

Nullpointer, if you want to cover up the taste of a hot dog, use chili, mustard, onions, and cole slaw.

If you want some incredible dawgs, go to usingers.com.

Smile: I have the day off.

Frown: Tomorrow will be nothing but meeting after meeting, followed by accounting work. Filing accounting reports is tedious, boring work. Also frustrating as one mistake starts a domino effect of inaccuracies.

Small tornado ripped through my neighborhood yesterday with the storms that rocked Houston.

Luckily no one hurt & no damaged houses I could see. Uprooted 3 oak trees & 3 pines, completely snapped 2 or 3 pines. Threw a shed about 30 feet. My small trees I posted about recently in this thread survived!!!

Was without power for 8 hours. Sat on the lawn with my neighbors for 3 hours & made the best of it.

REPO...I think I speak for all of us when I say that I desperately want to see this film. If you posted it online, I can guarantee that it would raise enough money to get you to NYC.

Both those ideas sound smashing. Thanks! I'm perusing the Usingers site right now. I usually throw my dawgs in the wood smoker for some extra flava. Would you recommend that approach with the Usinger beef franks, or should they be enjoyed without the encumbrance of my additional meddling?

:) - My kids went back to school today. First grade baby!

Same here. My daughter started on Monday - first grade! - and my son, who only recently turned four, started pre-K today.

Meddle away.

Their knockwurst is out of this world, but luckily shipping is cheap.

Wish your kids the best of luck too!
