I just checked reviews... I never knew those games were regarded so highly! I will have to check them out! Thanks!
I'm pretty much obligated to pimp those games ever few months on here some way some how. Since they're unique to the GG not everyone has played them. They're as good as most or all Shinobi games. Great music too. Was just playing the first one on the ol' Game Gear last night haha.
Got Pushmo last night since your post reminded me of it the other day. Had an eShop card to burn. Gonna grab Gunman Clive as well. For $2? Sounds like a great deal

It's a DSi Ware game that seems to have received solid reviews in 2010 & looks a lot like Castlevania SotN. It's been on my wish list for some time.
It's by Gameloft, the masters of "we're totally ripping off your game but we're not it's totally original". It's got a Castlevania vibe because that's obviously the inspiration.
However...while it is fun to rip on mobile game devs, this is actually pretty solid. It's one of the better DSiWare titles. I have it on my DSi XL, never moved those purchases to the 3DS. It's really well polished considering the limitations that Nintendo imposed. Unlike Castlevania it's linear and fairly short...but there's both a normal and hard mode, and it does get pretty hard.
There are far worse ways you could spend $5 on the eShop.
It appears that CV ripoff had been on android and ios and for some reason they were removed. Given the open non-power trip way Android is handled unlike apple, it should be able to be downloaded somewhere and side loaded to your tablet/phone.
I'm about to finish Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and finally move on to the next game (bought the trilogy on sale in the eShop even though I already had the first one). Some random comments on how I feel about the game:
- I like the characters and gameplay mechanics. I wish there were more games like this frankly. The dialogue can occasionally be funny too. I think the style clashes with the subject matter a lot, but I still am glad they went with a more colorful palette and characters. It's unique if nothing else.
- I don't know how the subsequent games in the series play, but I really wish the game was comprised of about 8 or so cases that were a little shorter. I don't feel like the cases are epic, just laborious after awhile. Trimming the fat and adding a couple extra cases in its place would be better IMO.
- Speaking of which, shorter cases would probably help minimize the "WTF does it want me to do" moments. There are times, especially in this last case, where all you're doing is trying to figure out the trigger to move on. You know where the plot is headed based on the evidence, and you're showing someone something that would definitely provoke a reaction, and you essentially get a "Try something else" response from them because that's not what the game wants you to do.
- That all being said I do think the developers managing to tie it all together, the stories just seem unnecessarily cluttered. Looking forward to playing more, I just wish the game didn't test my patience as much as it does. I like you game. You don't have to try so hard.

I have only finished the first and second game in this series so far. I loved the first game, but the second game (Justice For All) was so bad it almost made me give up on the series. Especially the third case (the circus one) was utterly terrible and wayyyy too long. I started playing Trials And Tribulations recently but the first case was so annoying (Phoenix's constant sneezing) right off the bat I just put it away for now. It probably gets better after that first case.
I agree that the cases should be shorter and more direct. And I also wish every single case wasn't about defending someone in a murder trial. Why can't I defend someone for money laundering accusations or a DUI? Something different for once Shu Takumi sheesh.
I just wish the game didn't test my patience as much as it does.
Ha ha, oh man please let us know how you feel after spending hours dealing with these two bastards.

Haha well I don't have to hear their voices so I'm still optimistic. I did a quick search before buying and it seems like a lot of people think the second one is the worst one oddly enough. We'll see. They're fun but flawed it seems, but flawed unnecessarily for the most part I think.
I agree about everything not having to be a murder trial too. More variety in the type of cases lends itself more to trying to tie them all in together at the end if you want too, so each game has some cohesion and more of a larger plot line.
