This pre-order link was officially announced on Hyperkin's Facebook page:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6868181036

I'll end up pre-ordering at the end of this month/beginning of next month if pre-orders are still available. If not, I'll just buy one when it's released.
Has it always been "sold out" on newegg?

Accuracy seems to be a big goal for this project, and I trust RetroUSB to deliver.

That said, I'm waiting for the NESRGB board to come back in stock. I'd prefer 240p RGB out to HDMI.

No. I was saving up for it too. So much for pre-ordering, I guess. See you in 2014 Retron 5!

What's the matter? Didn't get burned badly enough by pre-ordering the Neo Geo Gold X?

Stop. Breathe.

You don't need to pre-order this new electronic toy. This time just sit back and let some other early adapter get burned. Wait for the reviews to roll in. Inevitably, there will be some key design flaw in the first batch. Wait until hyperkin (or their competitors) fix whatever unforeseen problem arises with the Retron 5. Then buy the Retron 5.1 or Retron 6 or whatever the next gimmick is.

Well given the way this thing is designed, I'm betting there will be firmware updates.

It's a very good point though. I mean this is Hyperkin after all. Keep in mind that this company isn't exactly known for making high quality products.

I'm talking to you, Bone. It's also good advice for everyone chomping at the bit to pre-order.

I never had a Neo Geo Gold X. I admit I was really interested in that usb arcade stick. I didn't pre-order because I wasn't sure of the quality. I just waited until the device came out so I could read user reviews. Once I saw what users thought of it, I passed.

I was also interested in the Ouya. I didn't pre-order that either. I waited until I could read some user reviews. Then I passed.

I was interested in the Retron 3, the Retrogen, and the Blaze Mega Drive too. I didn't pre-order those either. See a pattern?

I don't mean to be rude to you, brother. I'm just trying to add a little perspective.

S'all good.

I had $100 set aside for this beast - but I ended up getting a VIC-20 plus games instead. 8)

So yeah, I'll end up waiting for reviews.
