I still have a lot of work to do in this thread. I have to update several flash carts, add the ODE stuff, as well as the other missing sections.
[GUIDE/INFO] Flash Carts, ODE, and more!
Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
Looks like I'm gonna have to add a Neo•Geo section to the list of flash carts...

I have one in the mail, not sure when it will get here from the UK but it should be fun. Runs anything you throw at it, all regions, NGP and NGPC. Toss the games legit, homebrew, proto, onto a micro SD card and you're ready to roll.
Maker is 'Saint' also has a Jaguar one in the works and did something else prior which escapes me, but it's all him alone being done and quality work. Makes even his own labels and 3D prints the cart housings.
Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
Cool. Wanna make a write up for it after you've had time to play with it for a while?
Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
I might have time to do that. I wasn't given a tracking # but given someone I saw online from Indiana got one yesterday I imagine it could be here tomorrow or the next day as it didn't show up today.

He did the Lynx SD cart and is still producing them.
Has anyone received the NGPC cart yet? I knew he was near done but didn't realize it was already shipping. Awesome... now he can move on to the Jag full time. Reportedly it shares some architecture with the NGPC board.

What really gets me excited is Carl from Songbird's software that will allow it to run CD games. I guess this is unique to the Jaguar as the CD add on didn't use additional chip sets or increase specs. It was simply an interface for another medium.

Now that's a cool trick. I believe the PCE/TG16 was the same, you just needed a better SYS Card (v3) to run some better stuff that needed a slight bit more RAM the little card had.
Because of this, shockingly enough, if you throw an ISO at it, you can on the GBA emulator PCE Advance run CDs if you toss the ISO on your little micro SD card you slot into your device of choice. So in a way quite similar. When I've had GBA kits I'd toss Dracula x, Ys Book1+2, and Gate of Thunder on there as it was just mindblowing fun on the go (and without the lame CD load/read times being an ISO.)
Saint does damn good work. They're starting to creep into the US already as I said someone just over the river in Indiana got one I read earlier today. Maybe I'll have it tomorrow, maybe Saturday or Monday, no idea. Depends on the lame-os at the USPS as they got sent out in bundles of 25 or 50 as he did them and I was like #22 on the original list.

Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
So I just came across this: http://64drive.retroactive.be/features.php#ultrasave
As far as I can tell, it will read ROM and read/write save data from legit N64 carts. So it's like a Retrode for N64 carts.
That catch is it REQUIRES a 64drive in order to use it. A great add-on if you already own a 64drive, but otherwise it would be a $220 N64-only Retrode.
He should totally make a stand alone version of this device though, one that does not require a 64drive.

Re: [GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!
First post updated. Lots of broken links and broken images fixed. Had to update the prices for most of the Everdrive carts. Added the new Mega Everdrive X3, X5, and X7 info. Finally updated the Everdrive GBA from "coming soon" lol. Some other minor updates.
Still need to add drive emulator section, and the new Neo•Geo carts!

Minor tweak, it natively also emulates the SMS and Game Gear with the latest update, you only list Nintendo stuff. I guess it's unofficially also strongly supports the PC Engine and the library of CD games in ISO format too.Ziggy587 wrote:Finally updated the Everdrive GBA from "coming soon" lol.
