I've researched law school in detail as my Masters has a concentration in Policy that I really enjoyed. The reason I decided against law school at this point in my life is the ROI out of the gate is rough, loan debt, and average starting salary is about $46K in my area. Now 8 years in, OP is likely above that. Agreed, definitely research salaries but make no mistake, making good money is possible in IT.
