Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
Re: Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
It's a chargeable battery, so if you leave it running for a bit it'll spool up that battery for some time. That little date and time input is the Dreamcast's friendly reminder that you should spend some time with it.

I missed buying one @ launch by a week or so. I forgot to figure in saving for tax & had to mow a few more yards!
I then had to hitch a ride to the mall. Good times. Great system.

9-9-99!!
Well, I didn't get one until 2000, like in March after Code Veronica came out.
What's sad is I'm sure there are guys who can tell you when the DC came out, but couldn't tell you their wedding anniversary or wife/gf's birthday!

They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

Phrased that way, the Dreamcast is adorable.Blu wrote: That little date and time input is the Dreamcast's friendly reminder that you should spend some time with it.
Much nicer than when the Wii tells you to get a life and go outside and do something with your life.

This makes me feel so, so old. Seriously. It feels like only the other day the Dreamcast turned 10 years old. And I still remember the day I had finally saved up enough money to buy a Dreamcast, 14 and a bit years ago. It was the happiest day of my life (don't tell my wife - marrying her is a close second
)
I've actually been playing quite a bit of the Dreamcast lately. I hooked it up to the downstairs television, via VGA, the other week and have been enjoying Metropolis Street Racer, Skies of Arcadia, Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Shenmue.
P.S. I still need to complete Skies of Arcadia. I completed Grandia 2 a few times, but have never completed Skies.

Re: Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
My dad got one, probably around launch. My earliest memory was playing Soul Calibur when I was two. Soul Calibur is my favorite game for the system. Apparently it always was, because my mom says I made her play it with me all the time.
I found my old one when I was about ten, but I didn't have any games except for Bust-A-Move 4. It stopped reading discs not too long after that.
When I was thirteen or so, I got another one, along with Jet Grind Radio. It is now one of my favorite game systems and in my opinion the best Sega console.
Happy birthday.

Re: Happy 15th birthday, Dreamcast!
I bought my dreamcast a year later when it came out with the sports bundle.
Sadly I lost that dreamcast a few years ago, when it got stolen with most of my then collection of about 40 games. Still pisses me off.
I had mostly all original games complete. I miss my complete copy of Project justice.
Now a days I have five dreamcasts. I pick them up if they're cheap enough. I have lots of controllers too.
Happy birthday you crazy console you!
Oh and for s#its and giggles here's some websites fake tweets if the dreamcast came out today!

I know in some bigger cities, you can get one cheap. You're in Fontana. That's in the L.A. area. You can find practically anything in LA.
Why are you denying yourself the greatness that is Dreamcast?
Go get one now.
