What are you Currently Working on?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Me too. I took my car to the vehicle processing center today, so bye-bye to that for two months. Now I have to put everything I want moved into one room so the movers know what to ship next week.

Linux Administration:
I've started reading some books and studying for my LPIC exam again. There are also tons of new tools I'm learning for troubleshooting mail/mysql/load for the new position I'm being promoted to. At this moment I'm doing a lot with regular expressions and rewriting my existing one-liners. At home I'm setting up my own VPS for something other than Minecraft to practice on.

Mantids:
Now that I've had these little guys for a while, I feel much more comfortable raising them. I want to rework my current tank and buy another (longer) tank for my communal species. I'm also thinking about ordering some different types of food and maybe a new species to play with.

Exercise:
I think the reason I'm so tired all the time is because my decline in physical activities. I've never been athletic, but recently I've done nothing. I sit all night at work and then go home and sit around until it's time to go to work again. When I had to walk home a couple weeks ago, it really wore me out. Shows me how out of shape I really am. I definitely want to start working in some sort of daily exercise routine.

In the very short term:
Build repros out of some bootlegs I bought. So far, need time to print out the labels and box art, and need cart cases to put the boards in.

Next:
Configure my room in Houston with the necessary cables to hook up my systems to my CRT (thanks, Jagosaurus) and HDTV. Going to a dollar store to grab cheap S-Video and RCA audio cables is the easy part, but I'm trying to get Saturn and (pending) Jaguar S-Video cables for better outputs on those.

Long term:
Get offline for some time. I did it for a few months a while back, and did some "productive" things in that time like working out (ran my best mile ever), catching up with video games (don't really complete anything, now), and most of all, not spend money and time to buy and sell stuff.

I think all of this can be possible, but I'm hoping to get offline very soon. All I'm waiting on is the Jag cable, really.

Top 3:
1. Get Astro City up and running. Got it in last night and gave it round one of cleaning, round two is tonight. Also drilled out the CP locks, but the tangs are still in place. Not sure how to fix that one.
2. Convert cockpit from aircraft to spacecraft.
3. Finish off current set of scripts, and start on next.

Running one mile in seven minutes within seven days from today. Next, run a six minute mile six days away from my completion of my first task.

No way I think I could run a five minute mile, but for my lanky butt a six minute mark would define the goal: It's obtainable, has a set time frame, serves a purpose, and is measured.

Plus Busom Jack and I are going to a 5K in the Outer Banks in two weeks, so I need to get in better shape.

My blog is my only project right now. I guess that's more of a hobby though. Right now I'm trying to gather materials for a 31 day Halloween countdown, but it's still a bit early, and the stores around here are still full of back-to-school merchandise. I'm also trying to decide on a webcam and software, because I'd like to actually do some videos this year.
