Yeah I thought XIII-2 was really good. Best music, best characters (actually had a villain), and it fixed all the issues I had from XIII. I really can't think of any complaints.

Things I don't like about LR:
- Lightning
- Hope, who in their right mind thought anybody wanted this prick to be your navigator? And I don't exaggerate with how often he interrupts you with awful dialogue while you walk around. Every 10 steps. Put together the most boring and most annoying characters of the XIII series... brilliant.
- Looks like they forgot to put in a cool villain again? How could they only get this right 1 time out of 3?
- The time mechanic is terrible. Doors that open up half an area are only open during X-Y hours, this and that event only happen during this time, etc. I can't stand this kind of stuff. I failed the first side mission because I was trying to get familiar with the beginning of the game and the shops, etc, but I ran out of time apparently.
- Not caring too much how this game is broken up into 4 hub/levels. XIII-2 was linear but still far more open than XIII, and seemed to have the right balance. This on the other hand, is just kind of sloppy or something. Feels more and more like an MMO with how generic the NPC's look and sound.

Still Playing Dark Cloud 2. Around 46 hrs in and on Ch. 6. I Have enjoyed it so far. Although the game has been relatively easy for me up until this point so hopefully it ramps up a little bit with the new areas.

Got the last set of jobs in my FFV four job fiesta run. My last assigned job?...

Chemist!

Pros:
-Absolutely, amazingly broken
-Synergizes well with basically everything (drink or mix are useful for everyone)
-Omega is definitely going to happen (chemist, mystic knight and bard? I could hardly have got a better set up!)

Cons:
-I hate the chemist. Too many annoyances to using him
-Grinding for turtle shells and dragon fangs sucks
-Money is going to be in short supply forever
-Low offensive power without mixes
-Low defence on an already pretty fragile team
-Mix is so complicated I'm going to need to have a chart of mixes available at all times. Blurgh.

So, team plans:
Bartz - Mystic Knight with Mix as secondary - Mystic Knights are fast, so having mix allows them to set up all the buffs ASAP.
Lenna - Bard with Black Magic - Bard needs to be able to attack after setting everyone up.
Faris - Chemist with ? - No idea what to put as my secondary here. Sword Magic doesnt seem wise with such awful offense and defense, and I don't really need 3 lots of black magic or mixing (except for Omega, but not generally). I'm thinking maybe sing so I can double up on the buffing power? Or I could actually use the chemists esuna/revive all commands for a change I guess.
Krile - Black Mage with Mix - A couple of mixes are ridiculouslty powerful spells, but the chemist has mediocre magic. Black mage will fix this right up.

I beat the game a while ago but something has convinced me that it'd be a great idea to try and beat the Dark Aeons and the other superbosses, thus my time has been spent grinding to build my stats and customize gear. So far I have defeated Dark Valefor and Dark Ifrit and am planning to take down Dark Ixion next. Let me just say that so far I still feel very unsure as to whether or not I can make it through to the end. I spent the past two days preparing for Dark Ifrit and he was still able to one-shot my guys. Thankfully I was able to still win (as noted), but still. I am absolutely dreading the likes of Dark Anima...
What's your armor look like? When you get to the Dark Aeons there are two kinds of attacks:

1. The attacks that can be brought down to sub 9999 with Auto-Protect and 255 defense. Sometimes you might need 5x Cheer to get the attacks into this range (Ultra Null-All is the best way to do this)
2. The attacks that are going to one-shot you without maxed Break HP limit + Auto-Protect + 255 defense

The first category is easily taken care of, and combine with Auto-Potion to leave yourself at full HP. In many cases they can be dropped to below 4999 as well (important for the next point). The second category tends to be attacks on a timer/trigger and are easier to either dodge with an Aeon (for full party attacks) or let Auto-Phoenix keep your party up.

The biggest thing you'll start to run into is that they are going to begin getting status effects on their attacks, with the worst being Stone. They deal enough damage that if they Stone a party member they'll shatter, so you'll need Ribbon/Stoneproof.
Currently my team is running BHPL/Auto-Protect and I'm also attaching Ribbons to them, but it's been a long road getting them for the entire team. I do have Break MP Limit but... now that I'm this far in I really don't see the point to it so I might just redo the whole thing. I did switch Wakka to Auto-Protect/Auto-Potion and I'm liking it, so perhaps I'll stick with that setup. Would Auto-Shell or Auto-Haste be more ideal?

Right now I'm grinding on Earth Eater for more Fortune Spheres which has been a time consuming process, even with Wakka and his Attack Reels.

@alienjesus - I'd do Sing to have double sustained buffs going.

@WallCrusher - The way the damage formulas work Auto-Shell really isn't necessary. Auto-Haste is amazing, as it saves you from having to use the high delay Hastega and cannot be dispelled or overwritten with slow, and if a character dies you don't have to reapply haste. Auto-haste is always amazing in every FF game it appears in.

Been doing Etrian Odyssey Untold Story Mode on Expert, and it's been a blast. I'm about 8 hours in now. I've uncovered about half the fourth floor on the first stratum thus far. Love the challenge, love having to think hard about how you upgrade your characters, love the fact the game actually respects the player's intelligence. I can see myself playing this for the rest of the summer easily.

Running Shoes!

I remember grinding in FFVI once with Odin (I believe) that leveled up your speed stat, got a few characters to 99 based around that and.... game broken. lol

White Mage, Summoner, Knight, Blue Mage random run complete; waiting for Gilgabot to process the victory so I can do another run. This time I'm going to do a regular run. The Random ends up frontloading towards the first half of the job list, when a lot of the interesting jobs are in the second half.

Interesting to see how popular FFV is here.

I'd like to get through the "classic" series games before the year is out. Still have III, IV, V, and VI to go. Maybe I can do it.

On mission 37 of 37 in Ghost Recon Shadow Warriors. Will take me ~25 hour to complete.

Apparently team lead on XCOM was also the creator for this one. XCOM fans should check it out.
