Those pics definitely look like graphics artifacts. I think your assumption of the GPU is correct. Not really sure why you're only having that problem with Cannon Spike. What were the other games you tested?

I'm gonna go with the GPU on that because the same exact thing happened with one of my Gamecubes. I believe I had it poorly ventilated and it had something to do with it. The graphics looked like glass shards on screen. I was lucky enough to find an exact replacement system board on eBay (one that has the component output) and swapped it out no problem. It has been working fine for 2 years.

He's using the VGA cable; it makes the Dreamcast look great.

My Wii GPU did the same... artifacts in a few newer games @ first. All eventually. Luckily DC consoles arent pricey.
