Poll - How Many Physical Games are in Your Collection?

My sig tells you. I don't count any game I have digitally as part of my collection. If I did that I may as well count the built-in game on my Sega Master System.

Definitely over 1000. Just NES is around 250 of that. I haven't counted in years, but I passed that number at least ten years back, so I'm guessing I'm pushing 1500-ish now.

Doing some quick maths on my backloggery tells me I have 924 physical games and 302 digital (I used to buy a lot of Virtual Console titles back in the day!).

The actual number of physical games will probably be in the 800-900 region, because the backloggery counts games seperately on a single disc - so a collection of 4 games on 1 disc would count as 4 titles.

Over 1,000, pretty sure. RFGeneration has what I entered there at 891 I think, for physical, but I haven't updated that in a while, and never entered PC games either. I don't think I have more than around low-100s for any one console, but with PS2, PS3, 360, PSP, and Wii all being around that it adds up.

Well, something I believe is the size of a collection should not matter. If it's games you truly love then I feel a collection of 100 games is better than a collection of 3000 games a dude just collects a bunch of stuff to not play but display to have "completes". I truly feel games should be played and if they are not played and enjoyed then it's silly to collect them.

I think there is room for both. I've had at one time or another several hundred games come and go, and its just not for me. My little collection is being curated to the most rigorous standards!

That said, I still dig the preservationists and historians of certain consoles/eras, and am more than happy to read about someone playing through a Barbie game just for documentations sake No shame in a collection, regardless of its size!

Nice... who says physical media is dead

So I was sitting around 500 in May of 2016. My gameroom/upstairs flex room now doubles as my work office so I trimmed down. I scaled back of the physical games and went with flash carts for NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis. I went with system mods/HDD/Optical Drive Emulators on hardware for PS1, PS2, & oXbox. I also now have a dedicated emu PC connected to my TV but I use the methods above on real hardware most of the time over emu.

My spreadsheet (yes, I have OCD issues ) shows I went from 477 games to 118 today, over 18 months. Then I have a handful of misc: 3 flash carts, action replay, DC boot disc. So I've let go of 75% of my game collection. I'm enjoying games more than ever and have access to more titles .
