Thoughts on Burning/Reproductions Forum section?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I 100% think this is the right place. Re-brand, but definitely do everything in there.

I had definitely considered that, but I kinda thought the intention was hardware-specific.
If we're all feeling this might be best, it sounds reasonable.
My main goal is I want things to be easy to find for those that are trying to find helpful information.

I am 100% in favor of adding a Repo/Burned category!

We have some awesome content on these subjects but they seem spread out across multiple subforums: general, hacks/mods, guides, emulation, technical help, etc.

I'm not big on repros of retail games that aren't clearly marked. I won't even get on that soap box though. You can look through my comments.

Ziggy's RB article on burning games from 2010:
http://www.racketboy.com/retro/hacks/ho ... e-software
I still use the version of ImgBurn supporting DC games! This guide helped me back up about 75 PS2 games to play off the PS2 internal HDD. Great resource.

Ziggy's burn thread with more recent updates:
http://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=289998

Monster thread I mentioned on everything... flash cart, cart ROMs to PCs, Optical Drive Emulators, repro boards
[GUIDE/INFO] for Flash Carts, Retrode, repros, and more!

... once again Ziggy

I think we should burn this forum and reproduce it with better threads

I decided to clarify the "Archiving" category and split the concept into two different:
The original focuses on documentation and history while the new one on game software.

Announcement of "Archiving" change
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 9#p1105179

New "Archiving & Repro: Game Media" forum
http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=56

I didn't want to lump in with Hacks and Mods as those are mostly console hardware based and is really modifying standard things as opposed to the archiving and reproduction aspect.

Well I'll definitely be checking out the digital game archiving often. It's a welcome category for me.

While you're moving stuff around. I always have to dig for this one. Better under hacks & mods, right?
