Games you don't get

Sega Rally. It seems no matter what I do my car just slides around like it's on ice.
Also, Bombastic. I just cant wrap my head around it.

It hasn't clicked where I'm any good at it either. However with 5 cheerful adults and some beverages applied it doesn't matter all that much.

SpaceChem and Europa Universalis come to mind. Although I'm sure if I studied the manuals I could play them.

And even though it's not a video game, I have to mention Squad Leader. Even with a manual you'll probably be... let's say confused.

For me, a game I don't get is the Borderlands games. Everything is going fine in Borderlands 2 and then I hit a point where I can't seem to get through the quests at all. I must not have the gear or the right load-out, but I can't be successful in the game. I can do FPS games, I can do Action RPGs, but Borderlands is a game series that I seem to fail at.

That's what came to mind for me too. I'm fine in the early levels of the game, but it reaches a point where I feel like I need an advanced engineering degree from MIT to get any further. Still a fantastic puzzle game though. I love it for being so intelligently designed and leaving it to us to just fail based on our own lack of creativity and visual spatial ability, poor mere mortals who play this game.
