Oh yeah, Hotel Dusk is one that I'm aware of, but know nothing of. Some poster on this forum has the main character as an avatar.Exhuminator wrote:The most creative uses of the stylus and DS capabilities in general for me were the CiNG games. I'm talking about Hotel Dusk, Last Window, and Trace Memory (can't vouch for Again as I've not played it yet).
Outside of those, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, Okamiden, Trauma Center, and Kirby Canvas Curse all used the touch screen to great effect.
But all of that is just scraping the surface, the DS' library is truly a beast. If nothing else though play Hotel Dusk, personally I found it to be utterly amazing.
I've seen so footage of Okamiden and it looks awesome.

Re: Can I have some DS recommendations?
I love the DS. It has the best library of portable games in my opinion, and I have spent a lot of time with it. My favorite series on the system include:
Castlevania
Dragon Quest
Legend of Zelda
Phoenix Wright
Professor Layton
and every game in each series is very strong on the DS.
I also enjoyed:
Contra 4
Elite Beat Agents
Final Fantasy III
Henry Hatsworth & The Puzzling Adventure
Legend of Kage 2
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
New Super Mario Bros.
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
Okamiden
Picross 3D
Picross DS
Puzzle Expedition
and there are a lot of games in my DS backlog and on my DS "want list".

I agree with this wholeheartedly, and that's coming from someone who's been into portable gaming since the original Game Boy. The DS has got an astounding amount of games across myriad genres. I hope my 3DS XL someday gets even half that amount of support.prfsnl_gmr wrote:It has the best library of portable games in my opinion

OSU! TATAKE! OUENDAN! THE HIGH-SPIRITED MUSICAL GAME OF ENERGETIC FUN! GET THE AMERICAN VERSION KNOWN AS "ELITE BEAT AGENTS"
BURNING FLAMES OF PASSION. YESSSS.
More seriously. Go look it up. Play it. It's incredibly good, one of the few games I would give a 10 and one of the best games availble for the DS.

Definitely seconding Hotel Dusk, if not for pretending that Opa Opa is the main character of the game alone.Menegrothx wrote:Oh yeah, Hotel Dusk is one that I'm aware of, but know nothing of. Some poster on this forum has the main character as an avatar.

Re: Can I have some DS recommendations?
I am a huge fan of both Hotel Dusk and Last Window. They both have excellent plots and innovative puzzles (insofar as the way they utilize the DS features). Best of all, both games do an extremely convincing job of creating characters that feel like real people instead of just cardboard cutout NPCs. That said, the games' pacing is not for everyone. A lot of people get bored playing those games because the pace is admittedly lethargic overall. That said if you have the patience to soak it all in, you'll probably walk away from both games feeling like you had an experience rather than just entertainment.
