i'd say no and i have both. i'd just pick up a cheap xbox360. if your ps3 is a backwards compatible you may as well hang on it it, other wise you may kick yourself later on. i know now that i'm back into all this i kick myself for losing any of my retro stuff.

I have to honestly say that I didn't see much point in owning both of them (at least at that time) as most of all of the high profile stuff was either multi-platform or 360 exclusive. I love my PS3, don't get me wrong, but if I was choosing one or the other right now, it would be the 360.
I eventually plan to get another 360 down the road when the hardware is a little more solid. but for now, the PS3 and PC both do me fine for the current gen stuff.
I think the PS3 and PC is the best next gen combo, that's what I'm gonna go for. And a Wii on the side if you have some extra cash.
