AIRBORNE.

One of my favorite 90's movies. Seth Green, Jack Black, hockey, Rollerblades, high school hijinks and love...really terrible script...It's sooo good.

Ever think you could win the heart of the hottest girl in school simply by Rollerblading through an herbarium? You will.

I wish we had some legit theaters here with 70mm projection. (There's one, but they're awful!)

The best we got is digital IMAX, which is only 2K resolution. It's like 1/4 to 1/3 of physical size of traditional 65mm IMAX projection. (The closest of which is in freaking Idaho)

Paper Towns is playing - I loved it but that's just me.

The younger crowd's sure to get a kick out of it.

Wait, did you guys watch the same Punisher: War Zone that I did? That thing was an abomination compared to the Thomas Jane masterpiece.

I gotta go watch Dirty Laundry again now to get that out of my mind (anyone who likes the Tom Jane Punisher and hasn't watched Dirty Laundry, go do it now and thank me later. It's on the Youtubes)

I'm not generally a big fan of Tarantino's work, I only really liked about half of his movies. But I will 100% drive multiple hours to see Hateful Eight in Ultra Panavision 70 if I have to.

I've only seen one non-IMAX 70mm movie before. Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch; the print was a little beat-up but it was still an awesome experience. In the days when it feels like everything is digital, I'm glad there are still celluloid-loving film nerds aside from myself!

My wife and I watched two horror films recently. The first was:

Image

Dagon (2001). I loved the H.P. Lovecraft story on which it was based. I thought that relocvating it to a Spanish fishing village was brilliant (and probably inspired, to a certain extent, Resident Evil 4). The effects were passable; the continuity erros were not that noticable; and the scares were genuine (and one of the actresees resembled Barbara Steele...). The protagonist, however, was an incredibly poor actor, however, and his character was a total douche. He single-handedly ruined the movie for me, and as a result, I cannot recommend it.

Tonight, however, my wife and I watched:

It Follows (2014). It was brilliant, effective, and perfectly shot and scored. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
