Yeah, all the wood is AC2 treated. Teh 2x6's (which I used for both 2x6, and my 2x2 stock) are 2 years old and are reclaimed from an old sandbox I had built, so they have 2 years of weathering to them; hence the darker more brown color.jp1 wrote:mjmjr25 wrote: They look great Mike. My wife wants to paint them deep red or green, but i'm happy to let them be as they are. They'll last 20-25 years as they are and that's plenty long for me...and, part of the project is the investment. The 3 chairs and 1 bench cost $85 ($30 of which is high-end no split / no weather dipped screws) and 5 hours of labor. If i paint them, it doubles the money and time cost...which makes it no longer a "cheap 1-day project".
