What's the best game you've played in 2009?

STALKER, Oblivion Lost mod

This mod put in all the stuff we were promised while also increasing the difficulty. Night is now pitch-black. Real firearms are in. The blowout occurs randomly, and relocates all the anomalies at random. Vehicles can be driven. Mutants have been beefed up dramatically, some in terms of damage and health(like the mutant pigs), some in terms of AI aggressiveness, and some in sheer capability. Mutants will also randomly assault towns. The military will assault towns. The issues with the PDA were fixed, and it now has weight. You can even sell it if you have to!

Unfortunately, the mod also increases the requirements needed to run the game, and while I can't vouch for its overall stability. It is still STALKER, after all. This game crashes more than Fallout 3.

I'm going to venture a guess and say it might be Street Fighter 4 or Resident Evil 5 for me, the games aren't out yet but I've been waiting on these for awhile, especially a new Street Fighter game.

Ive been getting into Age of Empires again, currently on the third one but by far the second one is the best game ive played so far this year.

I played Age of Mythology: Titans Expansion in Jan. I liked it better than AoM or AoEIII. The titans really make for more interesting levels than just "build a base and capture the other guy's".

but if it's next gen were talking i guess Sonic Unleashed would be it IMO

new game? Probably Dawn of War 2 beta. I love the changes to it.

Games overall I've played since the start of the new year, bioshock or Oblivion.

...just been playing Fable II for 6 hours straight - and I hate RPG's!

other than that been playing and enjoying Ketsui and The World Ends With You on DS... like I say, I hate RPG's...

I have been enjoying Fracture as of late. I honestly think game got a lot of unfair negative reviews, the reviewers make it seem like it's a unplayable Halo clone and in reality it's a decent shooter that is unique and has some flaws.
