Tuna is like a worse version of sardines. The mercury content is much worse. Eating it every day is not a good idea or even every other day.

Not really ticked but not a smile lol...

Went to the doc today. Day 11 with a sore throat. Day 1 of an ear ache.

In addition to the normal ulcers/sores down your throat that accompany a throat cold or strep, I have an ulcer on my uvula aka that hangy thing in your mouth. No wonder eating hurt so bad!

Strep test was negative. Pumping me full of antibiotics now.

The website that prfsnl_gmr linked would agree with me.
Based on all of the research that we have reviewed, we think it makes sense not only for pregnant women, women of childbearing age who might become pregnant, nursing mothers, and young children to limit their consumption of higher mercury fish, but for everyone who wants to include fish within their meal plan. Accordingly, we do not think it makes sense for you to rely on tuna as a primary seafood source for key nutrients, including omega-3 fats, since all tuna species show some level of mercury contamination in research studies. However, we do think it makes sense for you to treat tuna as a fish that can be enjoyed multiple times per month, especially if you select tuna types with lower mercury risk. As a general rule, we would include both skipjack and tongol tuna in this lower mercury risk category.
CDC and the FDA vary from each other but even the more lenient CDC does not think someone under 200 lbs should eat a can of light tuna a day, which is the lest mercury heavy tuna.

Dude, "The Keys" are just an hour from Miami - provided you don't hit rush hour traffic. Take it from a local. Miami has every kind of amenity and attraction you could want from a metropolitan city.

Check out the Jackie Gleason Theatre at the Fillmore. They host an amazing variety of shows.

(Geographically speaking, this is on Virginia Key, but it's part of the municipality of Key Biscayne.)

Monkey Jungle was a place I loved as a kid. The interesting thing is that the Monkeys roam more-or-less free and the humans are enclosed in caged walkways. It's a neat reversal of expectations.

Want an adventure? Take an airboat ride into the everglades. Zip through the sawgrass and meet a few hungry crocodiles along the way. There are literally dozens of airboat operators in South Florida.

Want something a little bit calmer? Flamingo gardens is a gorgeous botanical garden.

Do you dig history? Take a walking tour at the Fort Lauderdale historical society.

Is the heat getting to you? The industrial grade air conditioners keep the BB&T center frosty cold - They actually have ice hockey here during the season. The rest of the year the BB&T center hosts everything from big name concerts to Cirque Do Soleil to Monster Trucks.

Do you have a curious mind? Do you love both NASA and Dinosaurs? Take the family to the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science.

Want to take an evening for just you and the wife away from the family? Take a walk on the wild side at the World Erotic Art Museum. Yes, that's really a thing.

:D Saw George Clinton and P-Funk last night for five bucks. Even if I'm not crazy about the style of music, I still love the energy of live acts, plus he's a damn legend so how can you not?

Whoa! That's incredible. How was the performance?

Pery:

Almost every fish has mercury in it, and I find mercury poisoning to be...rather fishy. I say this because my lunch for the past few years has been a can of tuna. That's it. Just a can of tuna. Joe Weider swore by it, as do many people in peak physical condition.

And you know who eats a lot of mercury? Bears.

I'm not dismissing that tuna can have some mercury, but who knows anyone who has had mercury poisoning from eating tuna? It's just silly to worry about eating tuna. I would also suggest that more people die from jumping off a building with an umbrella believing they could fly than from eating tuna.

Brought to you by Scooner Tuna, the tuna that cares.

But seriously, a can of tuna a day is not going to kill you. That's incredibly silly.

I saw him at a festival a few weeks ago, was pretty good. It was George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic with the Family Stone.

The music was incredible and the energy was great in the crowd. It was an outdoor show in a park not exactly designed for concerts though, so with how far back I was standing even my tall self only caught the occasional glimpse of the performers (notable exception: one guy, I think a bassist, climbed up on a speaker at one point to dance), so I can't quite say how good the showmanship was. But still tons of fun, especially for how much it cost.

Think I'll go back next week for the Zeppelin cover band

^That sounds pretty terrific. GC & Parliament usually deliver the goods and then some. More of a performance than a concert and that fits their music well.

Cover bands get an undeserved bad rep, so I hope the Led cover band kicks tail.

Frown: Got a bunch of finger waving today at my Bible study for my opinion on flirtation. Again. Lust and admiration are two different things, but apparently "Satan" is disrupting the "Holy Spirit" by me thinking "that chick has some great bewbs".

Jesus himself was tempted, but didn't act on temptation, and God was all "OKAY JESUS. YOU DONE GOOD". So what is the fuss of liking the female figure? Pretty sure "our creator" wired dudes to love lips, eyes, legs, boobs, and long hair.

Smile: A neighbor of mine left me a huge bowl of homegrown cherry tomatoes.

How I love the smell of them. I don't think I'd ever get sick of them, even if I ate them every night.

Stuffed tomatoes, tomatoes with pasta, pizza with fresh tomatoes and pasta, tomato salad, roasted tomato sauce, tomato cocktails, chicken with a tomato pesto...etc.

That fragrance of a freshly picked tomato is something else.

I always got the impression from my church that they thought sex was just some gross, terrible thing that we have to endure so we can have kids. Sort of like the pain of getting a shot to avoid measles.
