Castlevania Bloodlines | Genesis | 1994
Echo Night | PS1 | 1998
King's Field (AKA King's Field II in Japan) | PS1 | 1995
Mega Man X4 | PS1 | 1997
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers | Saturn (3DS) | 1997
And King's Field II is down. That was an extremely challenging though not unrewarding experience.
So I was looking at when summer officially begins and ends this year. For 2015 apparently summer begins June 21st and ends September 23rd. So that means technically speaking, we've all got nearly three months left to complete our Summer Games Challenge.
Most likely I will hit Mega Man X4 next on my list, but I've got a few non-Summer Games Challenge titles I want to play before that.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
Descent
I played a little bit more last night and cleared level 24. That puts me in level 25, the first of the Pluto missions. 25-27 are all I have left, but if my quick two minutes spent in the first level of what Pluto has to offer is any sort of example, then the game will likely be pulling out all the stops to slow me down.
I'm so close to the end, I can taste it...
Look out for the false ending halfway through the game. I actually stopped playing the game when I got there thinking I had beaten it, only to find out some time later that I had a huge chunk left to finish. I still haven't beaten Wild Arms as a result, even though I did enjoy the game.
And congrats on beating Silent Hill!
Your run through King's Field II was highly entertaining and has definitely increased awareness of the series around here. Hopefully someday I can give the series a try.
Haha, I hopefully will be done with my Summer Challenge well before September 23rd...

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
After Shining Force II, I am taking a bit of a break from my list. I expect to get back to it soon, however, and I suspect the next game up will be Virtua Racing. I will also keep practicing Kaboom!
I am thinking about substituting a few arcade and NES games, however. Here is my current list:
Would anyone object to me substituting Ikari Warriors (ARCADE) and The Guardian Legend (NES) for Earthbound (SNES) and Galactic Attack/RayForce (SATURN)?

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
Exhuminator, I'd say go with Mega Man X4; you can knock it out in a few hours if you're decently experienced with other X games.
Ack, if it's any consolation, level 27 is very short since it focuses on the final boss. It's not like how level 7 was a full level with a boss at the end.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
Yeah, level 25 seemed pretty short too. I only played it for a couple of minutes, but in that time I hard already gotten the blue key and gone through the blue door. There are just a lot of mark 2 drillers. Not as hard as regular drillers, but still a pain in the ass.
That said, I have a stockpile of lives saved up. I'd prefer not to have to dip into them, but I can if I need to. I may just throw myself relentlessly at the final boss.
I want to get this done so I can move onto Mortal Kombat 2. I'll be playing as Scorpion.

Are you going to be doing the SNES version of MKII?

That game is awesome, and I actually prefer the SNES version to the arcade original. Have fun!
Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
1. Final Fantasy V
2. System Shock 2
3. Descent
4. Ultima
5. Loom
6. 7th Guest
7. Mortal Kombat 2
8. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
9. Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels
10. Castlevania: Dracula X
I don't know what that teleporting cyborg robot thing was, but it's dead now. And with that, another game in my Summer Challenge is down. It's now July; time for Mortal Kombat 2!

Wooo! Descent down! I'll admit that I spent quite a few lives on that final boss and it came down to either one in reserve or my last life.
