Games you really wish had better graphics

It's more a sign of the times and I really like the N64 but a lot of those games are painful to look at while playing.

I thought N64 games were ugly then. Come at me, bros.

5th gen looks like dump. So much awkwardness all around. I always felt like a guinea pig during that era, like I was "testing" games for developers. N64 probably looks the worst overall due to the lack of 2D titles.

Blazing Heroes is a less awesome game but the graphics are just SO UGLY that I've never been able to get into it. This game would have benefited from sticking to 2D graphics. Seriously, I know it's a strategy RPG so graphics SHOULDN'T be the focus but they're so bad they pull me out of it.

I love Blazing Heroes, but yeah, it looks like ass. Guardian War, which was released 3 years earlier on 3DO, looks 100 times better! Wish more developers had stuck with 2D; games like Linkle Liver Story and Magic Knight Rayearth are absolutely beautiful.

I value good gameplay above all else, so I can look past rough graphics without issue usually.

But how I wish, wish wish wish, that the Wii had included a quality built in 720p upscaler with an onboard HDMI port.

That said, the PS1 and N64 era did not age well as far as 3D stuff goes. But ePSXe and Project64's internal resolution enhancement options + frame rate increases make those platforms far more palatable than they'd otherwise be.

I think the PSX has aged far better than N64 stuff for the most part. Far more use of pre-rendered backdrops helps a lot, but even then... 3D PSX stuff looks grittier but doesn't have that nasty fog as much. I dunno.

That said I'm playing Mario 64 lately on the Wii U and it looks totally fine to me.

This is one of my gripes too because surely these games could easily look better on official hardware. Through the Wii U things look pretty good to me, but the jaggies are still there for sure.

Everything 3D on the PS1 would have benefited from one simple function: perspective correction. Good lord. Especially on early games, many surfaces and objects twitched in odd ways like they were trying desperately to hold together.

Genius idea; when they go inside Cloud's psyche it should go back to PS1 graphics for that sequence, to really heighten the nightmare effect of his mind. And as he gets better the graphics become better.

Yes. Even with the enhancements it looks like cack, and the combat is unwieldy to say the least.

You guys should try the Dolphin emulator, it even supports physical wiimotes if you have a bluetooth connection (and a sensor bar or equivalent)
