I think most posters here are not the kind to really focus on graphics but I think everyone has thought at some point "Man, this game would be perfect if it weren't so ugly". Which games do you think really suffer for their graphics?
Right now I'm playing Wizardry 8 and the graphics just...make the game feel very dated. Everything else is really nice and it actually has a great art direction but its draw distance is pitiful and it's very hard to see at night. It's perfectly fine for buildings and dungeons but half of the time it looks like this and it's hard to tell apart anything:
Thief II was another game that I felt suffered for its graphics. The art direction is amazing, but the textures are just...bad. It's not too noticiable when it comes to the ground or enemies, but those tapestries are just awful. Fortunately, people have released texture packs that improve the game in that regard (Original on the right)
What games do you feel are brought down by their dated graphics?

I found Puzzle Quest 2 for a buck on the DS. I thought I was playing a game ported from the original Windows.

PS2 stuff looks better and more appealing to me than just about everything from the early 360/PS3 gen. Seriously go bust out Dead Rising or Gears of War again and bask at how disturbingly smooth and drab everything looks.

The original Starfox. A remake would be amazing. But we are getting a new game so...

I wish the PS2 had a "clean" output as the Dreamcast did, less of that interlacing crap.

A remaster of games that used that horrendous lo-res sprite scaling would be nice. Bladerunner is a prime example. It looked like wank even back in the day, despite having some very atmospheric backdrops.

Lol, it's so true. I like Indies that have really good, hand drawn animation (like Dust: an Elysian Tale)
Currently Playing: Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd (PS3)

Two Saturn games leap instantly to mind: Blazing Heroes (aka Mystaria: The Realms of Lore) and Burning Rangers.
Burning Rangers is an awesome game but even pushing the Saturn's capabilities close to the limits, it's... rough looking. For a game with such a cool visual style, it makes the graphical limitations pretty frustrating.
Blazing Heroes is a less awesome game but the graphics are just SO UGLY that I've never been able to get into it. This game would have benefited from sticking to 2D graphics. Seriously, I know it's a strategy RPG so graphics SHOULDN'T be the focus but they're so bad they pull me out of it.

It's more a sign of the times and I really like the N64 but a lot of those games are painful to look at while playing.

I thought N64 games were ugly then. Come at me, bros.
