I find this is only true for the shotgun and rifle. I wasn't shy about using the handgun on the zombie schoolchildren and still had plenty of ammo left over.

Only thing about X-Magic is that it doesn't work for Blue, only Black, White, Summon, and Time.
Is it any spells they have already learned from other spellcasting classes, or just those spells they have equipped?
Equipped. So if you have X-Magic and Time equipped then you can dual cast rank 3 black, white, and all time. If you have X-Magic, Black, and Summon equipped you can dual cast rank 3 white, all black, and all summon.

Final Fantasy V

I've finally made it to world 3. Things started out well enough, but now I'm in the Pyramid.

I hate the Pyramid.

First, I'm down a party member. Second, there are some obscenely powerful enemies roaming around. Third, seems like 3/4 treasure chests hold groups of enemies who like to specifically target my weakest character. And fourth, I just got the Chicken Knife, which gets more powerful the more I run away. The game's response is to throw a dungeon at me full of enemies I cannot run from and have to fight instead.

Dick move, Square. I feel like this place is less about making a quality dungeon and more about giving the player the finger.

On the upside, Bartz is on the last level for Samurai, so as soon as he has got it, he goes back to being normal. Farris is on the final level of Mystic Knight, which means I may switch her out. Cara is working on the final level of Time Mage and then I'm putting her on Summoner and leaving her there until she finishes. I want to finish off this game soon. In fact I was feeling pretty good during the Exdeath fight at the end of World 2, which proved to be ridiculously easy.

I'm genuinely amazed you're finding the pyramid to be difficult but not Exdeath's castle. You've done a lot more grinding at this point than I normally would have.

It's not difficult, it's just feels poorly(or cruelly, considering the equipment I just grabbed) designed. I got frustrated at a couple of points in Exdeath's castle, but that's because I was going for Blue Magic there(which proved totally worth it in the Exdeath fight). Here, not so much, but it feels more like the game is just trying to throw stuff at me to slow me down.

Right. So in other words, it's time I grind out the last of the jobs and just turn my folks into permanent murder machines. Got it.
