If you play Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, it has to be the PC version developed by Grin. Any other version will not be the same insofar as difficulty and challenge.Ack wrote:All the talk about GRAW in this thread in the last couple of months has me interested, but I've never been into Tactical Shooters.
But now both Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon are available via the GOG sale....
Also, the Ghost Recon plot is eerily similar to recent events.
I finished the original Rainbow Six many years ago. It was pretty original at the time with a high focus on pre-mission planning and tactical route assignment. Honestly it's more of a strategy game than an FPS, although yes it is an FPS technically. Its sequel Rogue Spear is a bit more action oriented, but is tremendously more difficult. I have not played enough of the original Ghost Recon to give an informed decision. I do know that the PC version of it is considered superior however.
If you have not played tactical FPS games, you should give the genre a try Ack. It lets you work your brain out along with your twitchy trigger finger.
