I love Super Mario Bros.! It was the first Mario game I owned and played and still is one of my favorites. Coincidentally, I started and finished it last night!Key-Glyph wrote:Seriously guys. Super Mario Bros. is not fun.
Summer Games Challenge 2015

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
Gotta disagree, it's fun but it's that old school hard after a few levels(even in the gbc port which is worth playing for the sake of saves if you're still playingKey-Glyph wrote:Seriously guys. Super Mario Bros. is not fun.
Also, when is Duck Hunt traditionally considered "beaten?"
Chrono - made some progress where I'd stopped for the moment after restarting(was apparently my only option last time) so now I'm back in the past. Going to attempt to get back to the present and however close to beating the future(as far as is concerned to getting back to end of time), if I can beat those two if not more I'll be golden for as far as I'm concerned...

You seem much more positive about CT than you are about Final Fantasy 1.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
What can I say CT is just more fun, and I haven't had as many issues with playing it compared to ff1(seriously don't know what has been up with that, kinda strange...I may still attempt ff1 by the end of the summer but at this point that's a far fetched thing to think off)
Also:
Also:
Figure I might as well add that last one since i now have it, once I beat chrono I think I'll make the dive into it....1.) Final Fantasy(I'll get a gba cart or reattempt on psp would be nice if psp had save anywhere but I don't think it does)
2.) Mega Man - Anniversary edition (at least one game off of it)
3.) Sonic - classic collection so maybe i can play on go at work(I know alienjesus said it was poorly put together but I think I'll have to grin and bear it but I don't know if what he's talking about would be evident to someone who's never played the originals) or psp(sega genesis collection)
4.) Legend of Zelda - NES ( I started this last year and possibly for last year's summer challenge but never beat it)
5. Aladdin(snes) - never played it
6.) Chrono
7.) Lunar
8.) Tales of Phantasia
9.) Super Metroid

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
I haven't gotten to play much the last couple of nights. I went ahead and got the black chocobo and a few bard songs, but mostly I have been building up characters. I now have to go to the Shifting Sands and all, but at level 26, I expect I'll plow through it pretty easily. In fact, I may see about plowing through the rest of the first world.MrPopo wrote:Ack, how's V treating you?
I also started expanding my repertoire. Bartz, Lenna, and Faris are all up there in Monk now, so I should hopefully max them out before too much longer. To make the time pass quicker, I've been spreading Galuf around in the magic classes to give him some versatility. It's early in the game, so level 3 is really all I need in each one at this point to cast nearly every spell I have. He did reach Summoner rank 4 though, which leaves only the final ability to attain for mastery.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
I'm still powering through Shining Force II. The "force" currently consists of:
Halkett (HERO...he's named after my son)
Chester (KNGT)
Elric (BGNR)
Gerhalt (WFMN)
Jaha (WARR)
Janet (SNIP)
Karna (VICR)
Kazin (SORC)
May (BWNT)
Peter (PHNX)
Sarah (MMNK)
Slade (NINJ)
The force is pretty much unstoppable, and unless I get some amazing new characters, I will probably roll with this line up until the end of the game.

I see you've also taken advantage of the promotion items. You missed the one for Jaha to become a Baron, and I'm guessing you aren't far enough yet for the one for Pegasus Knight. If you were going for full absurdity you could have kept Karna a Priest and gotten a second Shining Ball late game to make her a MMNK; since she's got Boost she can always have a steady stream of levels.

Oh no! <Checks GameFAQS> I may try walking back to New Granseal to see if I can find it since I think Jaha needs an upgrade. I also kind of wish I had saved the Vigor Ball for Karna since she is levelling up really fast. If I ever give the game a second playthrough, I might do that.MrPopo wrote:I see you've also taken advantage of the promotion items. Also, this game is really fun, and I am considering a run at the original Shining Force. How does it compare? I have read it is much more streamlined, but howlongtobeat.com still says it is a 20+ hour game...

Agreed. Mario inspires me to have the BodyRockers retroactively change their sole hit song to: I Hate the Way - PS Screw You, Mario. Also, he's a plumber. I feel like that really says everything.Key-Glyph wrote:Seriously guys. Super Mario Bros. is not fun.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
I've started on Clock Tower. This game likes to kill you. Arbitrarily kill you, that is. Supposed to be a short game to get one of the 9 endings, so I'll stick with it though.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
