I'm glad some enjoyment was had from my maps, but we all know they're only adorable because they look like a six year old drew them.

And dear god, don't follow them. The overworld for Phantasy Star III was just so bizarre, and it changed in ways I hadn't planned for. You can really tell that I was being thorough on my first page, but the second one practically screams "oh shit I've run out of room."

The next time I play it I'm going to make way better maps, now that I know what I'm dealing with. Because yes, I do intend to see every ending eventually. I'mma get graph paper for the dungeons and everything.

I really do love hand-drawn walkthroughs, though. When I play through Super Mario Bros. I'm going to use that old "How to Win at Super Mario Bros." book, because I adored flipping through it when I was teeny tiny key.

Don't know if i posted a update to this but I made the mistake of having the sd card out and powered on the r5 and lost the progress up to that point *sigh* Debating whether or not to attempt again...(even if i'm craving something in the realm of gb/c instead....)

Considering your luck with RPGs, I'm starting to think maybe you should just give up on the genre...

The thing is, it wasn't smart to share sd cards with 3ds and r5....I've only had bad luck with these ff1 and this but because of stupid things(oddly both memory card related...but ff1 is just a horrible game in retrospective compared to the rpgs I played growing up like M&L: SSS, golden sun(which I technically beat bar the final boss since i was underleveled or something when I got up to it) and pokemon...yeah didn't get much variety in there)

Darsparx's history with RPGs is like some kind of Greek tragedy.

But it's seriously only those two like i've already said and because of my own stupidity with memory cards(it's a shame too with how far I'd gotten in ff1 originally before having to get another memory card for the psp....and yeah I need to buy a new sd card for the r5 since I need to download my humble nindie games soon...)

Seriously guys. Super Mario Bros. is not fun.

Also, when is Duck Hunt traditionally considered "beaten?"

Not sure; Dsh would say kill screen but he likes to torment people who play old games.

Super Mario Bros. is amazing. The controls are absolutely revolutionary. Do you find it difficult, Key? There's little room for error.

Also, here's a Duck Hunt longplay:

They didn't seem to follow any rules here. Duck Hunt is over when you want it to be.

For old-school loopers I generally try to loop the "scenery" once before considering it finished. However, if the game contains only one background, like Duck Hunt, I'd at least try to see every enemy configuration/pattern at least once. If possible. Some games eventually increase in difficulty to the point that they're virtually impossible (see Berzerk, for example). In cases like that it's more arbitrary. I haven't played Duck Hunt in ages so I'm not sure how it fits into this schema.
