Well MrPopo, I can concede the job stuff is solid.

The rest of the game is a meh sandwich.

Can't wait to see what Ack thinks overall after he finally takes down
Exdeath

Don't worry too much about making "wrong" choices. Every problem in that game has a solution, you just need to get creative at times. About the only "wrong" choice would be to go 4 Berserker as soon as you unlock it and nothing else. There's a guy who did solo runs for every single job (using hacks to get the later jobs at the wind crystal) and the only job he wasn't able to pull off was Berserker, and even that got all the way to the last boss.

I find this a fun game to mess around with, but very challenging to actually finish. Good luck!

Happy to see EarthBound on your list too.

Am I pushing it with PS1 and Saturn games?

Hoorah! Just finished Phantasy Star III. I'm still mulling it all over in my mind. Thoughts to follow.

In the meantime, this means:

1. Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
2. Metroid (NES)
3. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
4. Phantasy Star III (GEN)
5. Earthworm Jim (GEN)

Smile: Metroid is finally next!
Frown: No more Genesis games left. Gotta be strong.

Metroid is so damned good. You can do it. Take it slow. Make a mental map in your head. Absorb the atmosphere and find those missile upgrades.

I'm amused that she should use a broken link to help her.

A protip for Metroid is that the only things that need missiles to kill are doors and everything of note in Tourian. Ridley and Kraid can be killed with regular shots.

So you are saying I should replace it with Super Metroid?

My husband will be co-piloting and mapping out my travels for me, and he's wicked good at that, so we're covered!

He's not one to get nostalgic over old games, but when I popped Metroid in for a quick test he was briefly overwhelmed by feels. He then asked me if I'd consider not playing it unless he was around to watch and assist with navigation.

I did fiddle around with it for about ten minutes and loved it already. It's gonna be awesome.
