Megaman X4 is, in my opinion, the greatest platform game of all time. It is the only contender in my heart that Megaman X has to worry about.alienjesus wrote:Interesting that you think X2 and X4 are higher quality than the first, that's not an opinion I've heard often. I do hear mostly positive things about those games though.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Together Retro: Mega Man X
Damn it now I have to add Mega Man X4 to my Summer Challenge list.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Together Retro: Mega Man X
Time for Startropics 1 & 2!!!!!
Wait, what? That barely lost too???? $@#!!!!!
Ok ok ok so it's MMX. While I have the SNES re-release from Majesco, I'll be playing it and hopefully a few others this month on the Megaman X Collection (Gamecube). I'm only familiar with the first 3, but I hold the first 2 in high regard. I'm going to see how far I can make it and how many I'll be able to beat. It looks like you can save anywhere on all the games.

I have never played this game. Should be fun.
Re: Together Retro: Mega Man X
If I finish one of the long-ass games I've been chipping away at for months, I'll try to play Mega Man X6. It's not the same game or anything... but I'd like to finish the Gamecube Compilation I've owned for almost a decade at this point.

Mega Man X is rad. I love this game to death. I think it is the best game in the series, but Mega Man X2 and Mega Man X4 are also really, really solid.

How hard is this?
I have beaten Mega Man 2 and am terrible at Mega Man 1. That's my only frame of reference here.

Re: Together Retro: Mega Man X
It depends on what you found difficult about Mega Man 1 or 2. X has a lot more mobility than Megaman both in terms of speed and his ability to cling to and leap from walls. There are also expansion pieces that allow you to store more health and 4 refillable energy takes.BoneSnapDeez wrote:How hard is this?

I'd say that X is easier than the NES games.
