Haha, I don't usually go for more tactical FPS, but after reading Exed's encounters with it, I may have to track it down sometime.Exhuminator wrote:I would love to read your reactions as you played through Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter on PC. Wow, so, no mercy from Alien Soldier.
I made it to stage 5 last night before running out of continues. This one is going to take a lot of practice.

Word. Egress ftw.MrPopo wrote:Nope. But what you can do is use your leader's "return to base" skill to reset the battle and grind that way.
Aren't there some "respawnable" battles in Shining Force II? I think I can recall at least one "overworld" battle that can be triggered again later in the game should the player wish to do so.

That reminds me of my Medal of Honor experience, only instead of draw distance it was enemies that had 10 pixels visible and those pixels were almost identical to the background. Meanwhile I had to run through open streets.Ack wrote:You'll be fine. Just never retreat. It's easier than Iron Storm's sharpshooters who can see beyond the game's draw distance. Is that Medal of Honor or Allied Assault? I don't remember Allied Assault being too bad, but Spearpoint and Breakthrough got rough in a few places.MrPopo wrote:That reminds me of my Medal of Honor experience, only instead of draw distance it was enemies that had 10 pixels visible and those pixels were almost identical to the background. I believe he's talking about this:
And I remember that experience too. Replaying the game on ePSXe with upres'd polygons made a huge difference in the game's playability.

Re: Summer Games Challenge 2015
That was considered the FPS to play on PSX, if memory serves. The N64 really had that genre down, what with Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark, along with Turok, I suppose, but folks were certainly happy to get something of reasonable quality on console that wasn't on the N64.

Allied Assault. I always forget there was a game before that one because the previous game was PSX only. And for the most part Allied Assault isn't too bad, but the streets of Paris are pretty sadistic in their placement of enemy snipers.Ack wrote:Is that Medal of Honor or Allied Assault?
