If you're really feeling sporty:

There's a reason that first game is 666, 666. And a reason Rockstar offered a free pager with it.

I can't lie, I've been considering getting 3D. It looks awful and disappointing and I really shouldn't, but...

so I'm kind of thinking...

Blake Stone: Aliens Of Gold
Bonk's Adventure
Call Of Duty
Diablo
Dragon Quest
Earthworm Jim
The Great Giana Sisters
King Of Fighters 2002
Loom
Outrun Coast 2 Coast
Tomb Raider Legend

*part of me wants to swap in a Tomb Raider - Legend or Underworld, though.

Edit: Yeah, I think I'm gonna do TR Legend.

You totally want Final Fantasy V. It has a distinct lack of respawning robots that want to hug you with explosions while you're trying to conserve ammo.

Little sad that I don't seem to have any games on my list that cross-over with other people on the thread this year. Always enjoy playing something alongside, but I've either beaten the games on other peoples list before or I just don't own them.

I started FFVIII, got 20 mins in, and realised my memory card was full. Just erased the excess data and started over

This intro FMV is very pretty and all, but I wish it was skippable

It also has a distinct lack of being an above average game.

I mean, honestly, I see the appeal of FFV. It's just not built to appeal to me.

The really weird part is that I enjoyed Bravely Default, a game that clearly has a good bit of FFV DNA. I can imagine a remade FFV along those lines that I would enjoy a lot more.

Correct, it's not above average. It's awesome.

Get used to that feeling...

I actually like FFVIII quite a bit. (Admittedly, however, I was a sullen teenager when I played it.) I am interested in reading your thoughts on it.

I haven't played FFVIII since I was a sullen teenager. I wonder whether it holds up.
