7th Saga blows this one away in my opinion, but they're radically different genres. I have some thoughts on 7th Guest, but I figure I will wait until I beat it and post them in this year's Games Beaten thread. With a little luck, I'll have it done soon and can move on to Loom.

Something to try when you're finished:

I should really play The 7th Guest. I even have the strategy guide!

No, Bone, it is WAY too new for you. You can't handle modern newfangled technologies like the CD-ROM!

Seriously, the poor man thinks it's a drink holder.

I'm just sad so many computers these days lack the coffee cup holder. It really helped me out. Never could figure out why some folks put them in sideways, though...

1. Final Fantasy V
2. System Shock 2
3. Descent
4. Ultima
5. Loom
6. 7th Guest
7. Mortal Kombat 2
8. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
9. Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels
10. Castlevania: Dracula X

Well, scratch one off the list. Not sure if I will go for Loom or Ultima next...

I want to beat at least one more alphabet game, if not 2, before I start my list. I'm a way off beating game F yet though.

Thinking I might aim for some of my shorter games before starting FF8.

Go with Ultima; you can beat it faster than Loom.

Loom is awesome. I played it on the TG-CD way back. I actually played all 3 difficulty levels, because I wanted to see if I could work my way up. Some very interesting storytelling.

Agreed. Go with Loom. It is an excellent game (that I still haven't beaten for some reason...)

.....

Also, Samurai Shodown II is an amazing fighting game...but I am pretty terrible at it. At the higher difficulty levels, it actually plays a lot like Bushido Blade, and if (like me) you try to play it like Street Fighter II, it will destroy you.

I had some beautiful matches this afternoon against Jubei. (I am playing as Haohmaru.) There was a tremendous amount of jockeying for position and waiting for the other player to make the first move. After severla tries, I was able to defeat him, but the experience was unlike any other 2D fighting game. (Nakororu and Wan Fu are pretty much the bane of my existence right now, however.)

Started Earthworm Jim and... I can't make it past the first boss. I get loaded up with 2000%+ of gunfire just to get uppercutted to death.

What's the deal here? It seems like you can't avoid the Tire Man when he's rolling around, aiming to sock you. Are you required to take the hit? I've gotta be missing something here.

Oh, but you do get launched pretty high if you're holding jump... maybe there's stuff up in the air to grab. That would make the required hit, if it be so, make sense.

Hmm. Tests.
