Sonic CD has a super lame final boss fight? .....lamer than Sonic 1's?
I mean seriously, you spend the entire game fighting him in mechanic contraptions and the last fight he's spending it behind a wall?
This combined with his flying away safe escape made me 100% sure as a kid that I would unlock the true final boss/level by getting all chaos emeralds, ala S&K....boy was I disappointed xD

Sonic 1's is pretty lame too but Sonic CD's doesn't even have an interesting gimmick and is over in a few seconds. Besides there was nothing to live up to in Sonic 1. Sonic CD had a tough act to follow in Sonic 2's excellent two-boss conclusion.

It's actually possible to become super sonic in half an hour.

Doubtful. In addition to listening to classical music, I also play it for hours every day.
Bringing this together, is there a better track in the Sonic series than Starlight Zone?

I've always been more partial to the funkier themes like Chemical Plant Zone, Mystic Cave Zone and Flying Battery Zone.
