The Walking Dead tv series
Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Since i don't read comics i don't have a clue what is supposed to be happening. This last episode was alot better than the last 2 for me. I bet rick misses tyreese the baby sitter.

One of the last places I would hide a gun would be in a blender. But it was nice to see Rick not look like a teacup Maltese for once in a blue moon.
Carol's Stepford Wives stint is pretty slick, and completely believable. Ya know, until she talks about feeding children to walkers.
I've read a bunch of polar opposite reviews concerning this season, but my thoughts are simple: it's been entertaining. Perhaps if I wasn't surrounded by friends while watching it and kind of goofing off at the same time, I'm sure I'd be more critical of it...but it's a show with zombies so it's as realistic as Highway to Heaven.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
I like the focus on characters these past two episodes, and setting up an arc.
Some people are upset because they watch the show just waiting for the next zombie slaughter fest or death. I don't mind these quieter episodes, it allows the show to actually become a serious drama
They'd done a remarkable job selling how dangerous and borderline crazy Rick's group is, in contrast to this soft, sheltered community of NORMAL people. Rick could go full on Governor with this town if he wanted to.
After years of seeing Rick's group being victimized by zombies, people and fate, they finally feel like a group of genuine bad asses that can take on anything.

Agreed on all accounts.Cronozilla wrote:
Episode #100 was a huge "F*CK YOU, we need to sell more comics" to the viewing public and will never sit well with me. Totally a dick move and not even needed.
It's weird how the writers for the show pull some of the violence, yet add some. I like being kept on my toes, so, so far I've been more than happy with the past dozen of episodes.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
I'd like to see them have the balls to do what they did in issue 100 on the show, though a lot of it would have to happen off screen with reaction shots from Rick and company.
That's what the show lacks...the teeth and ruthlessness of the comics.
But I'm digging the current direction they are on and am happy to see whatever they choose to do. I really would enjoy seeing

Disagree on all counts. Barbarically killing off a love character to sell more issues shows no teeth. It was petty as you could possibly get. It would be like sex & The City killing off Samantha because they didn't know what the shit to do to make more money. It was one f the biggest "Fuck you, we're out of ideas" situations I've ever experienced in writing, and I'm not even emotionally attached to Glen.Gamerforlife wrote: That's what the show lacks...the teeth and ruthlessness of the comics.
"The show" doesn't need "teeth" nor "ruthlessness" to be a good show. It needs to be good, which lately it has.
And if Carol threatening a child isn't "ruthless" enough for you, seek counseling.

It's a zombie show. Characters die. And it's not like he was the first major character they killed off. You're not making any sense.Luke wrote:Disagree on all counts. In fact, major characters dying is pretty common in TV now. I can tell you right now, you should probably stop watching Sons of Anarchy is you're sensitive to that sort of thing. And don't EVER watch Game of Thrones.

Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Damn good episode this Sunday, and more gory and brutal than we've gotten in quite some time. Maybe the show does have some teeth after all....
Strong episode for Eugene, Abraham, Carol and Glenn
Fuck that priest, he's a douch
Interesting seeing both Abraham and Eugene be heroic. Who'd have thought we'd see them parallel each other like that?
