Well I did end up buying one, thankfully just in time and an extra AC adapter, just so I can have a dedicated charging station on my nightstand.

The cheapest one online out of Japan is like $2 more with shipping when I made that post of mine the other day. Sure it could take 2-4 weeks to get it, but at least you'll get one and it comes in a nice little box.
NOA already shipped mine, description leads me to believe it comes in a clear bag with the little red cardboard folded over parts topper they staple it shut with.
