Check your options menu. Also, that link that you posted to the Quake wiki? There is a video of a player running through the level. You should give it a watch.

I didn't know about the crosshair option either! Huge difference. Thanks!

So I just discovered my first secret level in Quake I, Ziggurat Vertigo. I was going for an all kills/all secrets run, but unfortunately there was one sneaky enemy remaining in Grisly Grotto that I never could find. Do your level completion stats effect the ending at all, or do they have an impact on the game in any other way? Are they strictly for bragging rights?

Strictly bragging rights. This is from a simpler time, where your reward for beating the game was the fact you beat the game.

I know right!? The late 90's vibe is so thick in this game, you could cut it with a Smashing Pumpkins CD. I feel like I should be listening to some Korn and Limp Bizkit when I play this game, and I never feel that way.

Thanks for the info. Loving this game so far!

Saying 1996 was any different than the late 90s is like saying Limp Bizkit is really that much different from Smashing Pumpkins.

I know Dave can't ban you because he's only a former mod, but I'm tempted :P

Don't worry I've already penciled in an appointment for a good round of self flagellation as penance.
