I agree. I can't think if any other drama series i watch that has all this downtime. But i'll still watch.Jrecee wrote:Meh. Character development can be accomplished without stagnating the rest of the story.
I personally loved the generally disliked episode that featured only Beth and Daryl hiding out in a cabin.
Conversations like "we're going to make it", "You're going to make it", "I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it!" have been played through 1,000 times by now. It's grown old.

I guess maybe. Other series i watch like banshee, dexter, true blood, spartacus just didn't have these massive lulls.Luke wrote:EVERY SOAP OPERA EVER. Which what this is, but with walkers.stickem wrote: I agree. I can't think if any other drama series i watch that has all this downtime.

Love TRUE BLOOD, but it was Red Shoe Diaries with Vampires. It was schtick with some lots of nudity. Nothing wrong with that. I thought True Blood almost always delivered.stickem wrote:

For what it is worth, the opening themes for TRUE BLOOD and TWD are very different. TWD is very much soap opera, where as TBlood shows naked women with the lyrics of "I wanna do bad things to you".
Ya kinda already know what is in store.

What the zombie apocalypse SHOULD be like:emwearz wrote:Good to know if you want to get away from Zombies all you can to do is a slow walk. Scenes like the one with the highway with the horde of walkers behind them and they are just casually walking always annoy me.
When people see zombies they should FREAK THE FUCK OUT as your fight or flight response automatically kicks in.

I wouldn't mind if this were to be the final season. Those post-apocalyptic themes have been explored and re-explored over the past five seasons.. People's mettles have been tested and moral compasses trifled with in all possible directions. Call it zombie fatigue.

The Walking Deceased movie looks like it is on par with Epic Movie. Who pays to see this tripe?

If they actually stick to what happens in the comics, the next couple of episodes may actually be REALLY good with at least one major shock event happening, one EPIC battle, and two really cool new characters debuting as well (if you thought Darryl and Michonne were badass just you wait).Pulsar_t wrote:I wouldn't mind if this were to be the final season. But that's always been the problem with this show, it's non-commital relationship with the comic books. It has a very on again, off again relationship with the source material and even when it's following it they have a tendency to water it down.
If they follow the books, we could be moving into the show's best and most exciting season.
I don't want to be too optimistic though...
I really wish this had been on HBO and Kurtman had stuck to the source material, would have been just as good a show as Game of Thrones, easily. I've already beaten that dead horse before though.
I did enjoy this episode. Rick's actions made sense and that FRICKING FLARE GUN ZOMBIE KILL!!!!

Awesome.

I would prefer it didn't stick to the comics. That way it can be surprising to everyone. Not sticking to the comics/being awesome don't have to be mutually exclusive.
But you're right, when they do follow the more shocking elements of the comic, they water it down. Which is why I'd just prefer they did their own thing, and be shocking in their own way.
