Not the deepest games out there haha, but whenever they got into some of the weird historical/demonic lore it was really weird stuff that seemed pretty deeply rooted into their culture, seemed pretty alien to me.

However, for a similar gameplay experience set in Japan, there are both the Samurai Warriors and Devil Kings series.

The Kessen games. The first was pretty straight forward. After that, they added some magical characters, but still playable
