Hell yeah. Still one of the most energetic shows I've seen.

Yeah!! This was my 7th time and they were even climbing the rafters and hanging upside down then crowd surfing. Still worth the 200 mile round trip.

I've seen Eric Clapton twice (once was with Steve Winwood in...2009?), the Eagles, and Paul McCartney twice. I also went to The Big 4 Festival in 2011 at the Empire Polo Club. And I'm sure I forgot one or two!

(As much as I love Megadeth, I doubt I'll ever see them live again.)

I've got my tickets and I'm looking forward to the show. Did he play a lot of stuff from the new Pale Emperor album? I am really digging that album, so I hope that he plays plenty of the new material.

Just saw Swans live for the first and probably last time of my life. Portland, Maine.

Awesome set. I held off listening to their latest album because I wanted to hear the material live first. I think that's all they played.

Damn their songs are long these days. Like, 20+ minutes. The band members looked exhausted when they finished playing each one. Except for Gira who appeared manic the entire time.

And yeah, the rumors of Swans being "like the loudest live band in existence dudezzzz" may be true. It was bordering on obnoxious in parts. Thank God I wore earplugs. Anyone who lacked them seemed to suffer a bit.

Now I feel compelled to check out all their studio albums I lack.

I'd love to see The Swans sometime. Glad you got to check them out.

I will never understand the idea of wearing earplugs to a rock show. I know, I "get" that it is about hearing safety and comfort...but "safety and comfort" seem to me the antithesis of the rock ethos. If the artist wants you to hear their music insanely loud, I feel like putting in a filter somehow betrays that trust and diminishes the shared sonic experience between the band and the crowd. It'd be like wearing sunglasses during a movie or dousing handcrafted gourmet food in ketchup. :?
