Games that "feel" similar to Resistance?

I don't play many FPSs at all but I played and finished Resistance 2 and it was awesome. There really isn't another FPS like Resistance 2. I've never played FPS where 100s of enemies come at you all at once wanting a piece of you. But my experience is very limited.

Serious Sam comes to mind as a "holy shit that's a lot of dudes" FPS.

Never played Serious Sam I'll have to look into it. I'm to busy with Steel Battalion and Mechwarrior 4 presently. Both awesome by the way, the controller makes these games much more fun than a standard controller ever could.

Left 4 Dead you move extremely fast (unless you're injured). I'm not sure how I'd characterize the movement. Its a bit floaty for my tastes honestly. But the game overall is so incredibly awesome that I wouldn't complain.

This can only be done with the PC version of L4D, but it is a console command that makes the game seem a lot like Serious Sam in terms of sheer numbers.

I don't mean to reserect a week old thread but I incidently finished the original Resistance today. I think the type of game you are after is an arcade styled first person shooter which emphasizes more fluid and faster movement, with a snappier shootng system. I'm not big on FPS myself, so from experience I've can only suggest the Timesplitters series is probably what you after. Fits the bill quite well actually. Serious Sam and Left 4 Dead seems like appropriate choices too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've heard Timesplitters is quite a bit of fun and plays well. I did go ahead and pick up Left 4 Dead and so far my wife and I are really having fun with it. It's definitely fast by our standards though. You get used to it though.
