Games that "feel" similar to Resistance?
This may be hard to explain, but after playing Resistance (I don't own a PS3 but was able to play through it) I realized that for me it felt different from most FPS I've tried in the past. It's difficult to describe why, but I think it has something to do with the freedom of control. It's very easy to move around, crouch, jump, etc. It feels a lot less rigid and constrained than other FPS.
So, as potentially vague as I've articulated this "feeling" I speak of, has anyone else had the same impression of Resistance, and if so, are there any games for other platforms that capture a similar feeling? Specifically, I'm curious if Left 4 Dead feels like Resistance, or if it plays more like an older-school corridor shooter.
As always, feedback is much appreciated.

i get what you mean resistance doesnt "feel" like other FPS, but it is hard to describe with words

The default control sensitivity was a lot higher than other console FPS - I honestly felt as if I were playing a mouse/keyboard FPS at times.
The controls seems a little less "sluggish" for lack of a better word.
The only other console FPS I've played that had a similar feel (and this is highly subjective) was Jedi Outcast on the original Xbox.

Resistance 2 felt a lot like Resistance to me.

Resistance 1 was an awesome game. My favorite part was playing through the campaign on co-op. Sadly, unless i am missing something, this option was not in R2

Oh. My understanding was that there's even more emphasis on co-op in R2. Anyway, I loved the co-op in the first as well.superlarz wrote:Resistance 1 was an awesome game. My favorite part was playing through the campaign on co-op. Sadly, unless i am missing something, this option was not in R2

I don't play many FPSs at all but I played and finished Resistance 2 and it was awesome. There really isn't another FPS like Resistance 2. I've never played FPS where 100s of enemies come at you all at once wanting a piece of you. But my experience is very limited.

There is Co-op, you can even play the co-op online. But it is not the main campaign. In fact there really isnt even a story to it, you can play it in any order. It feels like they over thought it to me.
