I'm signed up for a multiple-day-long glass-bead making class with zero romance! I'm hoping to learn a lot about working with glass this year and this will be my first-ever class!
(It's my favorite time of the year to be single! No obligations to flood my brain and make me feel guilty for not buying crappy candy and junk!)

Re: Valentines day plans
As is my tradition. I'll be sitting at home in bed alone watching Netflix stuffing my face with as much pizza and American-Chinese food as I can stomach along with some drink and smoke.
Not because I'm sad about not having anybody to spend it with. It just makes for a good excuse to be an unhealthy little shit.

Older. Not wiser.

Who said anything about you being sad? I love to stuff my face with pizza and American-Chinese food while watching movies.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:As is my tradition. We don't do much, one gift each and we'll put some thought into dinner - but we definitely won't go out.
I did get my wife something cool and for the first time probably ever i'm excited about what I got her.
It is a mashup of one of her favorite board games (Ticket to Ride) and her favorite hobby (Quilting).

Holding a big event at the local art museum which includes food from local chefs, live music, ballerinas, martinis...simply a great party where there are no lines and no fuss.
I've been on local radio, tv, and press promoting the event which has been nothing but fun.
Procured a limo for the event which is on the 13th. We're doing a red carpet thing, so showing up in a limo should be a blast.
Which means after that, the 14th we can relax*. We plan on making cupcakes together, dancing, listening to music, going for a bike ride, cooking homemade pasta, and generally spending time with each other.
Also I've been drawing a sketch book (charcoal on paper) for my love as a gift. Just a collection of memories from our Honeymoon. Hey, it's cute.
*The commercialization of love isn't a bad thing, but can be a pain. Celebrating Valentine's Day a day earlier, or not going out at all is a super stress reliever. Not only that, but taking your loved one out to Chili's isn't my idea of being romantic. Stay in and spend time together.
Or don't. It's your relationship.

Re: Valentines day plans
We do not have any plans for Valentine's Day, although we will probably acknowledge it in some way. We will be making our annual trip to the National Arts & Crafts Conference at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina the following weekend, however. We will be staying at the Inn again this year, and we will do our romantic dining then. (We have already made reservations at one of our favorite restaurants.)

What a delightful, and almost magical place.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Grove Park Inn
If you haven't visited during Christmas time, try to do so. Their Gingerbread house contest is amazing.
Plus there is nothing not to like about Asheville. It is one super attractive city.
