Valentines day plans

Post by fastbilly1 »

What are you guys and girls doing for the Catholic day of feasting that is now a Hallmark Holiday?

I typically take a half day and slow roast a good cut of meat, Lamp or Bison, and cook up a big fancy meal. My wife is not big on the holiday, so a good meal is about all she wants - but she always gets a small gift. Since her birthday is early March, I bought her a combination gift and got her a Nutribullet 600, since she has wanted one for awhile now.

Since shes been on a pretty strict diet, and wants to break it for the day, this year I am pulling out the stops and doing an Irish food day. Full breakfast, meat pies for Lunch, and a dinner of slow cooked corned beef & cabbage aswell as shepards pie with soda bread, and topping it all off with Bramback and a glass of Lusca.

My plans include thanking the stars that my wife has as much disdain as I for the holiday. And that's it.

My wifes bday is also on this day. So going out to eat is always a pain. Not sure what we are doing yet.

We're thinking of cheating, doing it a day early to beat the dinner crowd, plus so we can get the kid watched. Since we're not doing all that well, the idea was maybe go to build a bear and have something made. My parents since we got married always gifts us $100 to go and have a nice meal so dinner is covered.

She is making me breakfast and then we are gonna hang around the house them I am making Cajun shrimp pasta, which is her favorite meal. We just got new cell phones so that is our gifts to each other . We have no real desire to go out and fight crowds.

Me and my partner have kinda marked Valentines day as a sorta... anniverssary thing? We both kinda came out to ourselves around this timeframe so it works for us, so it's a bit more than just Valentines for us.

As for what we're doing? Uhhhh not sure yet. Hopefully got eat somewhere nice just the two of us, but things are still financially turbulent around here.

I am giving my wife a Jack Link's Beef Jerky box of Jerky. It is heart shaped, covered in fur and has a Sasquatch on the front. She can't eat the jerky, but she can save it until after the baby is born.

See that is the spirit! Appeal to the comfort foods that you both can enjoy and go crazy!

Twizzlers are actually my girlfriend's favorite candy. But I've done that several times(and just bought her a pack out of the blue yesterday), so I think I will hold off.

Instead, I think I will talk to her about meal planning for that day. I ordered flowers back in January, since there were a few early bird sales that I found, and it has been a few months since I bought her flowers. My birthday is the week after Valentine's Day, so we sort of do a mini celebration through that time anyway.
