What should a sandwich have in it?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

(I'm amazed it took more than ten comments before a Jill sandwich reference was posted.)

I'm a fan of Reubens. Rye bread, corned beef, saurkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing. If I'm in a diner and don't know what to order, I default to Reuben!

I'll also share a "trashy guilty pleasure sandwich" - white bread, mayonnaise, and banana! DON'T KNOCK IT 'TILL YOU'VE TRIED IT!

Sandwich making is a delicate art. The key is in the freshness of the ingredients. Bread should be fresh from the bakery, or your own breadmaker, should you be a serious aficionado. Unsliced, so that you may choose the bread thickness in proportion to the type of sandwich being made. If using meats and cheeses, sourced fresh appropriately. None of this pre-packaged, flash-frozen, looks like meat but isn't really, processed cheese product, etc. Vegetables, the same. Sourced as fresh as possible from your favourite place, cut and sliced during the moment of sandwich assembly.

Absolutely nothing is quite like biting into a freshly prepared sandwich. It's practically a sexual experience. My favourite sandwich of 2014 came about the day after thanksgiving dinner. We'd had this delicious picnic ham (prepared rind on, there is no exception), a ton of fresh vegetables cooked/steamed appropriately, scalloped potatoes prepared from scratch, the works. I cut two big hunks of fresh rye bread, and used the scalloped potatoes as my spread. Some finely sliced steamed veggies and some thick hunks of ham followed, the works was warmed slightly, and garnished with a slice of pineapple. The neighbours probably heard the moans at least ten houses down.

In short, fuck yeah sandwiches.

We call it Hungarian souce here, but my Hungarian friends told me they don't have such a thing, so I'm not really sure what it's called in English.

Basically it's mayonnaise with small pieces of ham, and some paprika mixed in.

This is as stupid as asking "What should a dinner have in it?". Or for the sake of this website "What should a game have in it?".
