This is a possibility, but I can tell you that in PCE circles, the RX pad is considered the least/worst of the 6-button options available for the PCE, mostly due to the d-pad.Hobie-wan wrote:Respectfully sir, you are on crack.marurun wrote:There's a 6-button that comes with the RX that's a lot like the PC-FX pad. Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
Yes, I have a Duo-RX with both the stock 6 button pad and an Ave 6 pad and the D-pad is definitely better on that one. Although the stock controller is not terrible. I love discussion on the PCE/Turbo, its such a neat system. I am going to Japan next month for vacation and I am super excited to go to some shops and dig up some old PC Engine games for reasonable prices. Especially on Hu-card only games since they tend to be highly devalued in Japan when they are missing the case.marurun wrote:This is a possibility, but I can tell you that in PCE circles, the RX pad is considered the least/worst of the 6-button options available for the PCE, mostly due to the d-pad.Hobie-wan wrote:Respectfully sir, you are on crack.marurun wrote:There's a 6-button that comes with the RX that's a lot like the PC-FX pad. Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
I haven't tried the PC-FX pad but I do have the Ave 6 pad and I can say it is a damn comfortable controller. I use it as my main PCE controller as the stock one that came with my PCE looks like it was stored in a dogs anus for a decade

Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
The Avenue Pad 6 looks like it would be a crappy controller. It looks plain and uninspiring, and yet the size and shape are good and the D-pad responsive. Function over form.

Fair enough, I haven't used an Avenue pad.

Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
regarding the 6 button controller, how many games were actually made for it? SF2 and the Neo Geo ports (i would think?) , anything else? thinking of getting one just for variety's sake
Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
Mad Stalker MIGHT use it. The Kabuki fighting game definitely does. Some of the SCD fighters, like Flash Hiders, use it, too. I don't recall all of them, however. I'll go dig around on PCEFX later today and try to get back to this with something more concrete.
And here is a link to a list, as promised.

Re: PC-Engine Collecting + System Questions
thanks marurun
looks like its mostly fighting games. i'd bet godzilla, asuka burning fest and black assault would support the 6 button too.
