The PS4 (and Xbox One) have 6X drives, yeah, but they're still significantly slower than pulling data from the hard drive. Both consoles have mandatory installs as a result. Even 27MB/sec starts getting slow when you're pulling gigabytes of data into memory.RCBH928 wrote:@isiolia
I was talking about online updates, not installing games from the disc. Also, the guys are reporting similar issues with PS4 which I do not think is a 2x BD disc like the PS3?
I don't have an Xbox One to compare to my PS4 for updates though. My point about the 360 is that developers couldn't necessarily rely on having the space for a big patch, as a HDD isn't actually standard equipment for a 360 (even now, you can go buy a 4GB flash memory model).
