Jurassic Park 3 is one of my least favorite movies. Even from the images this one looks so much better. I'm pretty stoked for World.

So, I've been hearing about this project off and on ever since Salvation came out and everyone hated it.

To be honest, everything I had heard made me cringe. It just sounded freaking awful. And with that mindset I watched the trailer.

Uh ... this looks fine.
Seriously, this looks like a perfectly decent Terminator movie. It looks like it'll be more enjoyable than Salvation (which really wasn't made to be a Terminator movie), and it looks like it'll be mile better than Terminator 3, which was a joke.

This actually looks like a good time. Most comments I've read about everything lately all over the internet come across as irrationally jaded and cynical, I don't think this is necessarily going to be awful. It looks like it'll be a descent Terminator flick. Which hasn't happened since 1991.

I think movies in general have been garbage for a few years now. Outside of very specific releases. So, I'm all for going backwards a bit if we can get decent stuff out of enjoyable franchises.

A note about Jurassic World, I was completely astonished with how not terrible it looked. I may know everything that'll happen in the movie because of the trailer (Along with Genisys), but there's nothing that seems so severely out of touch with the franchise.

Said it before, will say it again: They took the "Park" out of Jurassic Park in 2 & 3, which killed the thrill of the original.

Dinosaurs are great for film, but we will finally be getting a full park, full of chaos. We are being promised an island, full of dinosaurs and full of people, going bonkers. They can not fudge this up.

And Genysis seems, seems, to be a fan homage...which can always go incredibly wrong, but can also be something perfect. What I like about the trailer is that it doesn't seem to try to over-achieve, doesn't try to be a sci-fi scientific film that is food for thought, but like T2 it seems to have a cool premise, great action, and tons of fun.

I hate when movies try to explain themselves to me...this seems like fun with a hint of science. I dig it.

You're dead wrong.

Maybe movies you chose to watch were terrible, but we have had some of the best films ever released in the past few years.

There's too many to even list.

UP may be the best animated film ever.

Ben Affleck's dick didn't ruin GONE GIRL.

GRAVITY may have underwhelmed me, but took younger movie goers into space.

Even the new PLANETS OF THE APES movies have been excellent.

I'm a bit opposite to you...given those three choices, I think Jurassic Park is going to knock it out of the park, Terminator slightly less so, and Star Wars will most likely be fun with Abrams at the helm, but easily the worst of the three. There's absolutely no point getting your hopes up, that way if it miraculously ends up as something that stands against the originals we all love, you can be pleasantly surprised...rather than bitterly disappointed when it doesn't turn out how you'd hoped.

No matter what, the fact that these three movies is coming at all is pretty awesome. Nice to see something different than the superhero rut Hollywood has been caught up in...though Age of Ultron makes me all tingly. James Spader could read the phone book to me and I'd be lost. ;)

Dude!

Don't know if you read the book, but the DNA stuff goes on forever. The way the movie introduced Dino DNA was great. "Here's a cartoon, enjoy your popcorn".

I clearly stated it as an opinion and a nonspecific one at that, but lets ignore that and jump to conclusions about what was actually said.

Did I say there were no good, great, or excellent movies? No. I said, the general films released over the last few years have been sub-par, not great, and garbage. Listing exceptions, one of which is from over five years ago, doesn't invalidate that sentiment.

I would agree that blockbusters, in particular, are on average, better than they used to be.

Trailer gave off some nasty Into Darkness vibes for me. Without wanting to sound more cynical but we've had a slew of films recently that had amazing trailers that then turned out to be letdowns. Thinking of Into Darkness, Man of Steel and Prometheus here.

I can't speak really well for Man of Steel as it wasn't mind blowing, but the other two, you got issues if you consider those movies let downs.
