I think T3 worked because it was self aware as it being a parody, but really straddled the line into absurdity.
Salvation was a mess. You can't go from "This is entirely stupid" to "Serious" like they did. Balance was way off track in every way. And that monochromatic format didn't sit well with most audiences.
But hey. Here's to hoping this movie is a must see.
The little kid inside me is terribly excited for this. To see Arney reprising the role properly and not just a shitty tacked on cameo would be great. It's never going to be as good as T2 but anything could be better than T3. I was so disappointed seeing that at the cinema.
The realist inside me is trying not to get his hopes up and just pray that they don't fuck it up. I suppose as long as it isn't being done by that Mack Gee or whatever the fuck his name is it's bound to be at least passable.
A small part of me wishes they would continue with The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I actually enjoyed them.
I had to index the fourth film for my job. After having to analyze nearly every detail of that movie, over and over again, dissecting the plot, examining the product placement, etc., I just don't get excited about Terminator stuff anymore. They should have stopped with 2.
