It's iconic I guess. Surely we'll get more stuff in the new trilogy, but they have made it sound like Tatooine is a big deal.
Especially since it's supposed to be some dirtball backwoods that only smugglers and poor people bother with. The only positive thing I can say about the prequels is that they did a much better job than the original trilogy of depicting the entirety of the Republic.
True, though my friends and I were joking the other night about how boring the Jedi council/politics were.
So I'm not sure what to make of "The Force Awakens" (literally). I really liked how the KOTOR games handled the Jedi mythos. Very mysterious and weird stuff. I've always liked when that stuff is a bit more subtle, or like it's just iconic characters like LUKE and Vader basically, or Kyle Katarn. Not Jedi and lightsabers everywhere and anywhere. The prequels kind of damaged their cool factor to me, lol. So I hope the focus isn't 100% on Jedi stuff with the new movies.
I love the Red Letter Media reviews of the prequels and they do an amazing job of really dissecting what was wrong with the films in a mature and honest manner with humor peppered in.
What I got form the trailer was this, "We want you to see a mix of real and CGI done tastefully. We want to show familiar things. We want you to feel a familiar feeling with the originals." Did that work? Absolutely. Will everything really take place in Tattooine? Probably not, but that was really what they wanted to tease you with by showing you the familiar locale. If it was just crazy exotic locale after crazy exotic locale we all would groan and say, "Oh man...Prequels all over again!"
I am stoked! I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and just see what happens. Let's go for the ride and see if it takes us to good places.

I hated the prequels. Saw each one once in theaters, and then never again.
Love the original trilogy of course. Have it on VHS.
I rarely go to see movies in the theater but with The Hobbit + this and Jurassic World I'll probably get there three times within the span of a year. A record for me!

Gonna be a good year that is for sure!
