I don't want to either but man, that was a really, really effective trailer. If the balance between practical effects and CGI that this trailer has is indicative of the final product, I think these movies might be special.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Like I mentioned in the movie thread, the prequels didn't exactly set a high bar, and this looks like it'll at least wash the taste of those movies out. :D

Still not sure what to expect, but it is exciting knowing it'll inevitably be vastly better than the prequels.

Oh dear. I don't want to get excited, but that music...does things to a man every time.

So done with Star Wars. This trailer is like getting a text from an ex-girlfriend. No thanks, I've moved on.

I will say I admire JJ Abrams for taking on the monumental tasks of reviving BOTH Star Trek and Star Wars. It's like Theo Epstein winning a World Series with the Red Sox (their first in 80+ years), and then leaving to be the GM of the Cubs (who haven't won in 100 years).

EDIT: And not only that but imdb.com has Abrams listed as a producer for a movie version of Half-Life. Ye gods.

That scene with the X-Wings flying over the water really looks awesome... Not sure how I feel about the cross-shaped lightsaber... but I'm sure it will grow on me.

That sith lightsabre is veering into fanfiction territory. Not much else to say. Deserts, X-Wing, Stormtroopers; yep, it's a Star Wars movie alright.

Am I the only one that thinks Tatooine is one of the least interesting environments in Star Wars?

It's iconic I guess. Surely we'll get more stuff in the new trilogy, but they have made it sound like Tatooine is a big deal.

Especially since it's supposed to be some dirtball backwoods that only smugglers and poor people bother with. The only positive thing I can say about the prequels is that they did a much better job than the original trilogy of depicting the entirety of the Republic.
